Today we’d like to introduce you to Katelyn Pike.
Hi Katelyn, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
Matt and I started our company when we were engaged! While planning our wedding, we got an interest in videography and what it would take to be a wedding videographer. After meeting our wedding videographers, learning more about the business, and tons of trial and error… we fell in love with capturing couple’s biggest moment. Katelyn has a love for storytelling and editing, while Matt understands the equipment, shot composition, and color grading side of things – and together we make the perfect team! We’ve been in business now almost 5 years and love every moment! It is now my full-time job and being able to serve our couple every day with my work is an absolute dream.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
We both worked full-time jobs for about 4 years of our business. Working full-time while running your own company that takes a lot of time and effort is very difficult. Truly the love we have for videography, our couples, and this creative industry is what kept us going!

We are Matt & Katelyn – the husband & wife duo behind Honeycomb Films. We put our heart and soul into this business with the goal of creating personalized, heartfelt products of our client’s sweetest moments in life.
In creating this company, we made a promise to ourselves to not just be another vendor. Though we love all our vendor friends, we decided to always create a real relationship with our couples. Each couple is not a transaction to us – they have a story to be told and have entrusted us to tell that story. We hold that very close to our hearts and believe that the best way to tell their story is to truly get to know them on a personal level. We are here from the moment they book us till after your wedding day to help guide them through this process – this includes being their biggest fan day of.
We strive to create a video for couples as unique as their love. Every film, from start to finish, is handcrafted by Katelyn & Matt. Some people are shocked when they hear we fully work together in this company – and it’s true – we do! We love how our passion to create films allows us to be spend time, and get creative, together!
We feel honored being welcomed into a couple’s big day to not only tell the story of their day – but their entire love story. Video captures moments photos just cannot – the laughter of the girls while getting ready, the crack of the groom’s voice as he reads his vows, and of course all the grandparents busting a move on the dance floor.
What matters most to you? Why?
We are more than just a vendor. It is important to us to create a real relationship with our couples. We don’t just edit a wedding film… getting to know our couples on a personal level allows for us to know their personalities and create a video that matches who they are as individuals and a couple.
