Exploring Life & Business with Shantey Jeffers of STJ-Fashions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shantey Jeffers.

Hi Shantey, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Shantey N. Tucker Jeffers age 47 years, hometown Columbus, Georgia.
United States Navy Veteran, years of service 2001-2005. Rank and rate at time of discharge Aviation Support Equipment Technician Second Class (E-5)
Prior to my time in the armed services I worked in customer service-sales, account management, and as a case manager for a local not for profit organization.
Four children have called me Mom, three sons and one daughter.
I am divorced.
Now i am an entrepreneur, owner of STJ-Fashions (2001-present).
Why did i create STJ-Fashions? I found myself on a path to where I still have no idea. I tell myself that the only way for to find out, my purpose, if there is one for me….is to keep going.
I have always been a lover of fashion, retail, and people.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Retail is a competitive industry. I didn’t realize the truth in that statement until year one passed, year two, year three, now I am here at the beginning of year four. The brand STJ-Fashions has grown in the areas of public awareness and social media presence. These two areas were my primary focus when I began in 2001. Now some 51,000+tweets later, 10,200 Instagram posts, and over 6,000 posts on meta I believe that those two goals were met and surpassed. However, popularity and profit do necessarily go hand in hand.
Obstacles? Challenges? Being able to keep going even when I am not seeing the fruits of my labor so to speak, at least not in the form of monetary gain by way of profit.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
STJ-Fashions is an online retailer for the sale of womenswear and accessories, and something for him.
On occasion I feature menswear clothing and fashion accessories.

In terms of your work and the industry, what are some of the changes you are expecting to see over the next five to ten years?
For now STJ-Fashions is available online only. I believe that in the next few years while some major well known brands are downsizing consumers continue to shop online at a rate that I don’t believe will be decreasing anytime soon.
