Today we’d like to introduce you to Valerie Aguinaga.
Hi Valerie, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I started my journey with Pampúree in 2018 when I created the name; ideally I wanted to launch the company that same year but unfortunately that didn’t happen. It was sort of like the timing wasn’t right, so I always held on to the name. I like to list goals I want to achieve every year and sure enough, every time I wrote the list, I kept putting ‘Launch Pampúree, start creating Pampúree, your business will flourish’. I guess it was like a little push, always reminding myself that I started an idea so now I need to finish it.
So fast forward to present day 2020 and in the midst of the pandemic, my company was allowing us to take voluntary time off, so I decided why not take three months off to work on my own business! We are now a successful small business celebrating our year anniversary with our newest collection, “Madagascar Rose Quartz,” which includes a Rose Quartz crystal and bracelet for $30. We have so many heartfelt testimonials from all over the world, loving our brand’s messaging. We’re a small business but I think what the pandemic taught people is to start investing in small businesses. Let’s continue to support and build wealth together while helping to change the world.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
In present moment things have gotten a bit more smooth for Pampúree. I think now, having several collections out, I’m coming to really show our supporters what the mission of our brand is and actually execute it. When you have an idea for a small business, sometimes you wonder… will it be successful? Will you be good at it? Will people continue to support? I’ve experienced that and more in just our two short years of birthing the brand. I’m always so grateful and giving because it’s truly something I’m so passionate about. Now I can’t say it’s easy… there’s moments when I have to keep up with marketing, fulfilling orders, follow up with clients, think of new collections, keep up with tech, along with still working another job and maintaining a regular normal life. You have to multitask in ways you may have never thought of. There’s nights I go to bed at 3 am to then wake up at 5/6 am. There will always be a road you’re on but you have to hold on tight and enjoy it because it will be absolutely worth it! I promise. 🙂
We’ve been impressed with Pampúree, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Pampúree is a self-love/self-care online store. We create all-natural, cruelty-free products that you can incorporate in your pampering routine. We want our brand to excite you on allowing more time for yourself. Especially in times, we were in, we need to take care of ourselves inside and out. What we are most proud of in our company is our presentation when it comes to packaging and gifting. My goal is to have every customer feel like I was right there with them as they were opening their gift filled with love. That’s what sets us apart from others is that were not just selling things we’re showing the community to love yourself before anything else!
So maybe we end on discussing what matters most to you and why?
The two things that matter the most to me is family and women’s empowerment. When you think of Valerie, you must think of my family. They are truly my backbones and the reason I am who I am today. They have inspired me throughout my life to keep striving for greatness and never giving up. They allowed me to be ME; whether that was being a little different, they never molded me to be what they wanted me to be. That allowed me to be the powerful woman I am today. That’s why I’m such an advocate for women’s empowerment. I created this brand for all the women and girls out there looking for an inspiration or faith that they can do it too. I went through dark times in my younger life and I felt so alone. I want to be the woman that’s there for others when they needed it most.
