Today we’d like to introduce you to Akenya Graham.

Hi Akenya, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I was looking for Elderberry one day and it was literally sold out everywhere. I needed it for my family before the start of the winter season, you know, cold and flu season. I walked into a store and a young lady introduced me to the raw elderberries and she explained to me what I can do to make what I need. My life changed in that moment. I posted a video on Instagram of me and my son making the elderberry juice once I got home and someone asked me to ship them a jar. I was so excited so I headed to the post office to ship it out and the clerk asked me for a jar too. They actually bartered with me by paying for my postage for a jar of the elderberry juice. I knew right then a business was forming. I hurried home and told my husband and he immediately began creating a website for me. Nature’s Organelle came into fruition that day. 

I started my business with the idea that I can heal the community. I wanted to sell Elderberry Juice to everyone because I know how good it is for your immune system. My family has been taking it for years. I’m all for holistic health and a lot of what I do focuses on healing the body internally. I wanted to create products for the entire family. I began creating herbal products that included Sea Moss as the base. Sea Moss contains 92 of the 102 minerals found in the human body. It gives complete cellular restoration for healing. The herbs help with ailments the body may have, such as high blood pressure or stomach issues. My business grew just from providing necessary products to help fight against sicknesses and dis-ease.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It’s been very smooth other than being worried about meeting demand. My business grew very fast and I really wasn’t expecting such growth. I just wanted to help people heal.

We’ve been impressed with Nature’s Organelle, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
All of my products are made to order. I specialize in Herbal Sea Moss Blends and Elderberry Juice. I sell other things like capsules and hair juice oil. I believe my brand is different from others because of the options I provide with my blends. It’s not just sea moss gel. It’s herbal blends designed to heal specific ailments the body may have or for prevention purposes. I’m most proud of how well people have responded to my brand and the healing that’s taking place. I want people to know that sometimes you can choose to heal yourself and not allow anyone to dictate that in anyway. Healing is not just taking products or prescriptions, it’s mental as well. You have to believe your body can do what it’s designed to do naturally. What I create just helps you get there.

Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
My advice for others starting out is to believe in what you KNOW you can do. No one can tell you what you can or can’t do because it’s YOU. I wish I had a lot of support when I started out. It would’ve propelled me further than I am. Support allows you to not be afraid of making certain decisions and it can be your driving force to keep you moving forward. It’s very important to have a strong team of people around you. People who really support your vision. Now that I have that, there’s no stopping me. EVER.
