Today we’d like to introduce you to Amanda “Charli” Branche.
Hi Charli, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Growing up I’ve always been spiritually attached to any dog I see. My parents introduced me and my siblings to dogs at a young age and taught us the responsibilities of owning and loving them. I was always in tune with dogs, but It wasn’t until my late 20’s when I decided to turn it into a career. I was living in New York and I noticed this man walking different dogs past my job’s front window. He was a dog walker and I asked him for a brochure to see pricing In case I wanted to bring my dog to doggy daycare while I worked. Once I saw the pricing my brain instantly clicked on my light bulb. Why Am I working for someone when I can start a pet care business? Needless to say I started my business and fell in love with the pet industry. I started My Pets BabySitter, dog walking, boarding and daycare business first. All of My furry baby clients love spending time with me. By the end of their stay they don’t want to leave to go home to their humans. I then started My Pets Bus, and The Bark Bash while training to become an official dog trainer under TechPawlogy. The Bark Bash hosts fun events for dogs and their humans and My Pet’s Bus is A pick up & Drop off Doggy Daycare service I like to call Furry Field Trips. My Pet’s Bus is now open to Atlanta and surrounding areas.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
The biggest challenge I face with My Pets BabySitter, is that I am outgrowing my space and It’s time to expand. I am having to turn away clients as my I don’t want to overbook and not be able to give each dog tlc and the attention they deserve.
As My Pet’s Bus is a newer company my biggest challenge as of right now is Marketing. How do I maximize on my exposure so that the whole state of Georgia is on my Furry Field Trip waiting list.
However the main challenge but never a regret is that I am a one woman team. I literally do it all! The hardest part is finding an employee that genuinely loves dogs as much as I do with great work ethic.
