Today we’d like to introduce you to Twin Spirit.
Hi Twin, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My desire has always been to inspire others to self-discover and reconnect with who they are at the CORE… this is what birthed me, the Artist: TwinSpirit, as well as what motivated me to spearhead the whole Art Houze Alive movement. Simply Put: “I Aspire to Inspire” and my end goal is that this fire in me assists other women & artist in rekindling and reawakening to the limitless possibilities that are available to each and every one of us. My dream & desire is to assist others in freeing their hearts, minds, bodies, & souls from all the “ties that bind” and barriers that prevent us from developing to our full potentials and pursuing our Dreams! I am currently on a mission “To Inspire others to Say Yes to the Life of their Dreams by saying YES to themselves!”.
With over 20 years of experience living and working as a touring International Jazz/Soul Artist, small business owner, and creative business consultant for start-ups, I have had the opportunity to cross paths with some of the most awe-inspiring Artist & Creative Innovators over the years. I have often encountered a singular frustration & challenge expressed by most of them: “How can I live my life Doing What I Love to Do?”. I knew there had to be a solution to answer the ever-growing need expressed by Artist I have met and worked with all over the world. Those needs are: To access the skills, tools, and business know-how necessary to grow their talents into marketable brands and develop businesses that thrive. ART HOUZE ALIVE is my Answer to that Call!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Life is often filled with challenges. I always see these as Opportunities to Grow and Stretch outside of my comfort zone. Being an entrepreneur always requires that you wear many, many, many hats. The biggest challenge is often the Balancing Act of simultaneously having to serve in so many roles at once and still maintaining some semblance of sanity & order in your life. Wearing multiple hats as you get your business off the ground requires a fierce commitment to organization, the ability to seamlessly and quickly switch between critical tasks, and a degree of balance that not everyone can master…It’s often what causes many to give up on their Dreams!

Art Houze Alive is a launchpad for artists who are determined to become successful entrepreneurs. From business strategy and consulting, to providing the space, education, and community connections they need, we are a platform that assists Artrepreneurs (Artist Entrepreneurs) in creating sustainable businesses, growing the arts economy, and reinvesting in artists who inspire us all. Our mission is to cultivate arts enterprises that create consistent revenue for artists and expand the role of the arts in the larger local economy. We energize diverse communities in dynamic uncompromising ways. Art Houze Alive supports the growing needs of emerging and exciting art businesses, as many artists have creative and ambitious business ideas but lack access to the necessary channels to realize them successfully. Art Houze Alive bridges the gap… in short we specialize in helping creatives “Turn Their Passions Into Profits” so they can spend more of their LIFE Doing What They Love & Loving What They Do!! Art Houze Alive is an artistic think tank, progressive creative business incubator, & supportive community of Creative Mentors that meets the needs of an underserved and abundant artistic entrepreneur community in Atlanta and surrounding areas. We are also Advocates & a voice for the Artrepreneur Community and we will continue to push & fight to ensure that Artist everywhere can not only survive but Thrive as Artists and successful Entrepreneurs!
What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
Most recently our biggest obstacle was the deep impact of the Covid19 Pandemic. It was indeed an unexpected challenge as well as a wake up call. It forced us to acknowledge and explore the limitations that our current business model of only offering “LIVE” in-person sessions, products, and showed us how services could easily be disrupted and negatively impact the experiences for our customers as well as drastically affect our income flow. Mandatory Shelter in place orders, closures of schools, college campuses, event venues, & enter cities resulted in contract cancellations and refund request. The cessation of our daily operations and the cancellation of our entire book of business for most of 2020 was devastating financially and emotionally. The overall experience forced a much needed reevaluation of the gaps in our business model and it inspired the pivot that we are currently embarking upon. It felt like a curse initially but has actually become a blessing in disguise. It’s funny how life works that way sometimes. This experience has tested me as a founder, strengthened me as a leader, & grown me as an entrepreneur and for this I am truly grateful. Our organization & team has emerged even stronger and more dedicated than before! Biggest Lesson learned: Never Give Up & Be Open to Change!
