Today we’d like to introduce you to Ifeyinwa Eze.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
Hi! My name is Ifeyinwa Eze. I am currently 26 years old and I am from the Bronx, NY. I am a luxury hairstylist and educator with 9+ years experience. I also am a beauty and lifestyle influencer. I also recently moved my whole life to Washington, DC!
I’ve always been a creative person and someone who wants to learn and try everything! I started my hair journey back in my early years of high school in NYC. In high school, I would style my classmates’ baby hairs and sometimes, even charge $1 haha! Growing up, I was always into beauty and I caught an interest in hair. I would be on YouTube learning and trying different styles on myself and my family. I would then post it on Snapchat and it’s been uphill ever since! I officially started my business in 2017 and it’s been trial and error. I specialized in extensions, mainly wig installations, for many years, I worked in salons, at home, and in my dorm while away at college. It ultimately clicked to me that this should be my career. I went to cosmetology school, became a trichologist and so much more. I then shifted my focus to more natural hair and scalp care plus extensions. With doing so, I wanted to truly understand hair and help my community in various ways. I aspire to be a source of impact and inspiration to others to show them that there’s so much more out there in the world and that you should never limit yourself. I was able to become a salon suite owner and now my business has expanded to DC and I’m excited to see all of the new doors God will open for me!
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It definitely has not been! I founded and operated my business solely for years. I’ve dealt with days of not having money, crazy customers, being scammed and so much more. However, everything is a learning lesson and I’ve grown tremendously along the way.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am a luxury hairstylist and educator. I help women reconnect with themselves through their hair and I help them rebuild their confidence. What sets me apart is that my clients’ overall experience matters the most to me, I provide a lot of education, knowledge, inspiration and care for anyone who comes across my business. I’m most proud of how striving I am to always want more and better, not only for myself but for everyone around me.
Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
I love taking risks! No risk, no reward. In life, you always have to take risks, whether big or small. A big risk I took recently was moving my whole life to DC. This risk consisted of me moving by faith and not by sight. With risks, you have to always believe and have faith that God will always be there for you.
