Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicholas Cousar.
Hi Nicholas, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I have been fascinated with the arts since early childhood. Growing up, I would show my parents my extraordinary talents and passion, I had for music and arts. I would mimicking legends such as Earth, Wind and Fire and Michael Jackson and even act out scenes from my favorite movies.
Little did I know that my passion for music, writing song and evening creating my own mini movies and video content, would be the driving force for me to start my own Multimedia Productions company one day. . When I was a kid, I love to dance and entertain my family and even friends. I always, knew what I wanted to do and that it will take hard work and dedication to achieve and accomplish your goals in life. I start started to play the drums for my church and began writing and performing my own songs and music. I attended Northwest School of the Performing Arts in Charlotte, NC. I learned everything about entertainment industry and the different forms arts, from acting, writing, dancing, playing live and even recording music. I also studied and took different classes from drama/acting, music theory, engineering/recording arts, film recording and the music business while performing in the band and performing showcase.
After graduating in 2010, I moved to Atlanta to attend the Art Institute of Atlanta to continue my education and pursue my dreams as becoming a recording artist and music producer. I learned at this time, in my life I had discovered a new passion in my life, I was able to tape into acting, script writing and even modeling. I created mini-movies and commercials while being able to continue my education. I fell in love with my craft and music all over again and with the new discovery of other areas in arts and entertainment. I had a college professor that told me in class “Most students think that life’s doors will open up for you because you graduated with a degree and the job should be handed to you…One must learn how to put in the work and work hard to achieve your goals and fight for what is right and what you want. He said it’s best to create your own and own something that you can call yours, where people can come to you for work and your business”. That message struck something within me…
I transferred from the Art Institute of Atlanta and earned my associate degree in business management at Georgia Perimeter Community college, which is now Georgia State. While attending college, my passion for my music grew while experiencing new things on my journey to the entertainment business. I became a peer-educator for GCAPP, GCAPP(Georgia Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy) is a non-profit organization created and own by actress Jane Fonda and started writing jiggles, creating and producing content to promote and inform students and even parents about GCAPP.
I knew that I wanted more for myself. I enrolled into Savannah State University as an online transfer student in the business management program to earn by Bachelor’s degree and I started my own multimedia production company entitled Never Mind Creating Productions in 2016. While earning my Bachelor’s degree and even perfecting my craft, I had an opportunity to speak at Jane Fonda’s 80th birthday on December 9, 2017, where I shared my story about my passion as an Artist and for the entertainment business and why I started my production company and the impact GCAPP had on my life.
From this experience, I was featured in my first article ATL Magazine, I had an opportunity to be featured in Voyage ATL inspiring stories, I was also featured in a Live in Color Fashion Magazine Color Kings editions. I was even asked from GCAPP to speak on a panel of youth at their youth Empowerment Summit Event. I was able to accomplish my goals and continue to pursue my dreams, graduating school and earning a bachelors degree in management in 2019. After graduating with my degree, I push and worked on my business and brand to be the best multimedia production company today!!!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
No, this road has not been smooth at all. Operating a business has its ups and downs, but it comes with a wonderful and an amazing experience. I learned that all money is not good money. I’ve learned that you can’t mix personal friendships with business and you can’t tell everyone your ideas. As a business owner, you have to put in the work with marketing, and budgeting and making the best decisions for your company. Some of the struggles that I face within the first few years of my business what trying to books clients or trying to get someone give me an opportunity. I had to have faith and find out what works best for me with my prices and editing and stick to it. When the pandemic hit the world, I was able to still get booked for photoshoots and events and also create video content for clients. I had the ability to be able to work on my business and perfect my craft during that time, I worked on my editing, my lighting and found new ways to shoot.
Today my struggle is trying to make sure that I do not overbook myself with clients, from multiple weddings, photoshoots for headshots for actors and actresses and even help with photoshoots for model portfolios. So as the owner of the company, I must keep my faith, stay focused and positive. I say thank you to all of my loyal clients and I cannot wait to work with all of the new and future clients. “Always remember, Never Waste a Creative Mind”.

How do you think about happiness?
I want to go on record to say that I love what I do! It makes me so happy to use my God-given talents to create and produce my music, take pictures, and create video content, not only for myself but most of all to help others. I love helping my family, friends, and clients bring their creativity and vision to life. My parents and mentors have always told me that when you do what you love and love what you do it doesn’t feel like work or a job, it your passion. It brings me true happiness to be able to pursue my passion and the mission of NeverMindCreating which is to create a driving force that will assist people in fulfilling their destiny. What I love most about what I do, is that “I can create/produce whatever I want create with my music, my photography and videography and most of all that I’m able to use my platforms that I’ve built to help my clients, family and friends with bringing their creativity and vision to life and allowing it to shine”!!!! Sometimes in life, we find ourselves with a vision/idea that we’ve written but we can’t see how to produce it. It brings me joy to help, develop and creative content for them and watch their reaction unfold, full of excitement after they’ve seen the final product. With that being said, remember that continue to trust God and know that he will always send the right people along your path to assist you in bringing your vision to life. I love traveling the world and visiting new places and experiencing new things. I love being able to show the world my creative through the eyes of my lens and through my music. I love using my gifts to create.
