Hi Richette’ Denise, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I spent over 24 years working as a Medical Assistant in Oncology, which gave me a deep sense of compassion but also left me emotionally exhausted during the pandemic. I reached a point where I knew I needed to redirect my purpose toward something more fulfilling — something that still allowed me to help people, but in a way that brought both of us joy.

While searching for a new direction, I came across the world of waterless pedicures and realized it combined everything I loved about healthcare — care, precision, and transformation — without the emotional heaviness. I invested in advanced clinical foot care training and fell in love with the process of helping people feel whole again.

Today, Happy Soles is a multi-award-winning luxury wellness brand known for providing exceptional, life-changing results in one visit. I proudly serve men, women, children, and my favorite — seniors. Many clients leave their appointments in tears of joy because they finally feel seen and confident again.

What started as my personal healing journey has grown into a movement that’s redefining what pedicure care can look like — safe, clinical, and deeply restorative.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth road, but it’s been worth every step. In the beginning, I only had a few clients each month and spent most of my time educating people about the benefits of waterless pedicures. It took time for people to understand that this approach wasn’t just different — it was better.

When I started sharing my transformations on Instagram and Google, everything shifted. People could finally see the results, and that built trust. From there, the growth was organic, which opened the door for me.

Opening in Conyers came with its own set of challenges. Some doubted whether people would travel or invest in a luxury service outside of the city. But I believed in what I offered, and that belief paid off. Today, clients drive hours or even fly in from states like Florida, Arizona, the Carolinas, and New York to experience Happy Soles.

The hardest part has been expanding while maintaining the level of care and attention my brand is known for. Finding professionals who share that same passion for feet and client transformation hasn’t been easy. It’s just me. That’s why I made the decision to close my Indiana location after a year of running both locations alone and focus fully on Georgia.

Along the way, I’ve also learned how important it is to invest wisely in education and mentorship. Early in my journey, I invested in several programs that didn’t quite align with my expectations or provide the depth of knowledge I was seeking. Those experiences taught me to research thoroughly and only align myself with credible, proven educators — which is why I now emphasize integrity and results in everything I offer. That realization also inspired me to return to school to become an educator myself, so I can help future professionals receive the kind of quality training and support they deserve.

Every challenge refined me. It taught me resilience, faith, and the importance of staying true to my purpose — even when the road isn’t easy.

Happy Soles Wellness Pedicures specializes in waterless pedicures designed to deliver both physical transformation and emotional restoration — often in just one visit. I’m known for providing life-changing results so remarkable that clients call me the “Foot Goddess.”

What sets me apart is my approach. While most pedicures focus only on cosmetic results, I combine advanced techniques, clinical knowledge, and personalized care to address not just appearance, but overall foot health and wellness. I proudly serve many of whom have struggled with foot issues for years. Watching a client leave happy, sometimes in tears, because they finally feel confident again, is the most rewarding part of what I do.

I’m also excited to soon offer new services, including scar camouflage, reflexology, and techniques focused on improving stretch and flexibility, which will expand the Happy Soles experience even further. Brand-wise, I am most proud of creating a space that blends luxury, clinical excellence, and emotional care — a place where clients feel seen, safe, and celebrated.

Beyond providing services, I train other professionals, helping them adopt safe, transformative, waterless pedicure practices so they can elevate their own businesses and care standards.

Ultimately, I want readers to know that Happy Soles isn’t just about pampering the feet — it’s about transforming lives. Every service is rooted in respect, expertise, and a mission to help clients walk away feeling stronger, healthier, and more confident than when they arrived.

Are there any books, apps, podcasts or blogs that help you do your best?
I don’t always have time for books or podcasts — I’m a caregiver, and most of my free moments are spent making memories with my mom, who battles Alzheimer’s. Instead, I draw strength and inspiration from God, as well as from my mentors and business besties. They guide me, keep me accountable, and remind me to give myself grace along the way. Their support has been just as valuable as any resource I could ever download or read.
