Today we’d like to introduce you to Heather Parker.
Hi Heather, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started as a Pre-k and then Elementary School Teacher turned Private Investigator (when I took over for my ailing Dad). I love resolution; so problem-solving is fun for me. I am adaptable and fluid which supports me in trying transitions. Like when I decided the “church” I was a part of was hindering me in connecting with GOD as I know her.
I hear God is omnipotent and God is all things, therefore God is her as much as she is him, and we are all things too. I believe LOVE is the answer. I know HEALING wounds and ailments is possible just as much as being present to life’s cycles (including death) doesn’t have to devastate us, and not that it won’t either. Understanding energy and emotion is important because it affects us in everything. Once we know our own energy and how it moves, we are empowered and can more easily realign with our soul in a way that often feels impossible. Reiki Healing reminds me how intricately connected we are beyond what we see and what we think we know. It is not a substitution or replacement for your faith or religion. It is not a replacement for medical provisions. It is, however, a beautiful compliment and an amazing way to care for yourself, your soul, and it supports your body in amazing ways. I love Reiki, and I love teaching and solving problems too. Here I AM. You can find me in Atl and in LA.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Life is smooth and it is rough. Maybe that is why I love hiking so much and poetry and metaphors. (insert big smile). Learning to trust myself and hear my intuition was hard. I was taught to rely on external forces for answers, direction and knowing. I wasn’t shown how to hear my soul, let alone honor what my soul was saying. Our tagline at Soul Knowing Energy Healing is “trust what your soul knows”. Like the time I had a sinus infection and my Mom insisted I drink orange juice. Easy enough to say,” it’s your Mom, do what she says. She knows what’s best.” and not that my Mom doesn’t know things. She does. She is one of my greatest teachers (good and bad). I don’t like orange juice. I bucked a bit, like, no, “I am going to drink this pineapple juice.” I love pineapple juice. When I went to the doctor and shared this situation, he informed me that pineapple juice is not only high in Vitamin C, the Bromelain in pineapple juice is good for expelling mucus and fighting inflammation. While this pushback I received from this stance is mild in comparison to other moments of me standing in my truth, it was a huge confirmation for me that I can trust what my soul knows. What’s popular and trending may not be what’s good for me. I can trust myself and you can too. Self-knowledge and empowerment is another aspect of my work that is important to me and absolutely conveyed in Reiki Sessions, Classes and Coaching.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am dynamic. I am a Poet and Published Author. I love wordplay and spellcasting. I am a Teacher by trade. My Bachelor Degree is in Liberal Studies. I am a Student. I am a vivacious soul and woman. I am a Story Teller. I read energy and work within Energy Healing for the well-being of the whole person (body, mind, soul and heart). We are multi-faceted people. I am not alone in this. love that life is hardly ever a direct line. It is hardly ever a direct line; it is more like a curvy road that ebbs and flows. I love creating. I love connecting. I love seeing people remember who they are at their core. So as a Reiki Master/Teacher and practitioner, supporting people in knowing themselves, seeing the tools and resources available to them and supporting them in that growth fills my heart with joy. I am not one thing, nor do I act like I am the answer, and that, along with my Funky Sunshine, sets me apart from the rest.
Where do you see things going in the next 5-10 years?
I see Energy Healing and Energy work expanding beyond the trendiness of it now into a substantial form of self-care and community building, especially as the hard-line work for the benefit of the machine gets heavy and people realize they are alive and here for so much more than a 9-5 job that is killing their spirit and making communing with earth, animals, plants and people difficult. I see more LOVE flowing through and more presence of mind and spirit. People are tired and that is spiritually as much as it physically.
