Today we’d like to introduce you to Audjenea Carmicheal.

Audjenea, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
My Skincare journey started in 2017 with my brand Juiceeboxx and I can honestly say it’s saved my life. I started out by making my own masks and body scrubs to get my mind off of all the crazy that was going on in my life at the time. I had just lost my mother unexpectedly and my family was across the country. I had to find something that relaxed my anxiety and finding solutions to skin conditions helped take my mind off of it all. Over the next few years, I tested out different products and theories about skincare, which led to a conversation one day with my best friend. She suggested I go into the field of Esthetics.

Fast forward, I found the top school in Atlanta and decided to go back to school. School drove my passion even more but I hit another bump while in school, I received a call that my father had passed unexpectedly. So here I am getting ready to graduate and I don’t know which way I’m going because I’m sucked into the same grief I had just a couple of years ago. I didn’t let it stop me. I rebranded my business to JB Esthetics, quit my 9-5 and decided to step out in faith. The best decision I’ve ever made was to leave my job and make my passion my full time.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road. I’ve lost both parents, was involved in a domestic abuse relationship. I lost myself at one point and working kept me sane.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about JB Esthetics – what should we know?
JB Esthetics is all about Skin and bringing that confidence back to women and men who live everyday lives. We specialize in skin correction and hair removal. Making body waxing fun has always been the piece that sets me apart. I know from personal experience how waxing can be an uncomfortable and painful experience but I like to engage my clients so that it can be a relaxing experience. I’m very proud of the growth overall. JB has come a long way from being Juiceeboxx and only offering homemade scrubs to now offering a professional oil cleanser, scrub, and beard oil.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Being Optimistic. When I go through my personal and professional day to day life, I remain optimistic. I always look at the bigger picture.
