Today we’d like to introduce you to Aukeaus Solomon.
Aukeaus, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I have almost 20 years of experience as a professional disc jockey. I began my career in 1999 at the BIG DM 101.3 FM in Columbia South Carolina as an intern and grew to work on-air, control board operator, and radio promotions. I then began working for 103.1 Kiss FM in 2004 and 2009. In 2006, DJ I moved from Columbia, SC to Atlanta, Georgia. Even to the present day, I work events between Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina.
I work with KINGZMEN ENTERTAINMENT WITH MC L.RYDER and MC KUNG FU. And long-time Associate DJ CUERVO usually trades events when one or the other is already booked. Today, I work mostly on the Eastside in Stone Mountain along with Downtown. I’m a mobile DJ so I will travel almost anywhere to do any event.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
I would love to say it was a smooth road but unfortunately, it has not. Over the years, when moving to Atlanta, I was met with a number of adversities. When I first moved to Atlanta, I have to network and meet new people to attempt to get in a club or booked at private parties. There were times when Djing had to pay all my bills because I lost my day job. And in 2009, I lost my DJ Gig and could not find work so I moved back to South Carolina. That was a hard time mentally and emotionally and I consider multiple times about quitting. I moved back to Atlanta in 2011 and my first gig back in Atlanta a key piece of my equipment broke at Space ATL. No music played in a packed bar. IT was so embarrassing. It took three months to fix. And a few years later, someone stole broke into my car and stole a lot of equipment that I was unable to recover. But I will say the biggest struggle is not understanding Business, Marketing, and Branding. It was a long road protecting myself as a DJ and brand. I’m actually still learning more to continue to grow in entertainment.
Please tell us more about your work, what you are currently focused on and most proud of.
My Company is DJ BABYFACE -I offer DJ Services. I have operated under the business name MESSAGES WITH MUSIC LLC with my MC and Business partner Larry Ryder. Also, work under the title KINGZMEN ENTERTAINMENT with Larry’s Brother, SEAN RYDER also known as MC KUNG FU, MC DREADPOOL, and DJ CUERVO.
I specialize in Hip Hop and R &B although I play for mostly All Genres of Music and People. WE provide services for WEDDINGS, NIGHTCLUBS, FAMILY REUNIONS, TAILGATE PARTIES, GRADUATIONS, AND ANY SPECIAL EVENT under reasonable circumstances.
I’m proud that this was an idea that started from my college Apartment in South Carolina State University to grow to an entrepreneurship opportunity. I still have a regular job to balance myself. But I am equally proud to do both.
What set me and my team apart from others is we bring Energy to the Party. We specialize in weddings and nightlife. So, I let my bridal clients know I’m the DJ you can when you’re ready to Turn UP.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My future plans consist of opening my own bar in the next 5-10 years. Also, I am considering going on tours with artists as well as working on a podcast. I’m at a really good place where I need to map out different Ideas because I don’t have to do them but I do not want to get to the contempt with everything falling into place. Also next year, I’m getting married to the love of my Life Toya Sessoms. She has been very supportive since day one and together, we are working to help each other improve ourselves physically, mentally, financially and spiritually.

- Events can go from $250-2500 depending on the size and scope of the event. Each Event is different
- Weddings start $800 can go up to $2500 The more intricate the more expensive plain and simple.
