Today we’d like to introduce you to Bob Bush.
Thanks for sharing your story with us Bob. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I was born in Egypt as my father was employed internationally as an engineer working on numerous foreign projects, so traveling has always been in my blood. In addition to Egypt, I spent my childhood years in Algeria, Taiwan and India among other countries. Upon graduation from college, I received a commission in the U.S. Air Force and my travels continued with duty stations throughout Europe and Asia. Following my military career, I joined a multi-national company working in the Middle East with extensive travel throughout the region. My interest in cruising started about 20 years ago when I discovered the unique advantages of ship board travel as a relaxing way to vacation with family while visiting foreign ports at a reasonable cost. I started a blog to document my travels, write reviews and share my travel experiences with others. Two years ago, I finally decided to pursue my passion for cruising and travel so “CruisinBob” was launched.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Booking a 7-day cruise is vastly different from booking a 5-hour flight. Yet many people will book an online cruise vacation based primarily on price. There are dozens of cruise lines with multiple itineraries to a diverse number of ports that cater to different clientele with a dynamic pricing schedule. The options are mind boggling, confusing and frustrating. My 45+ cruises combined with a lifetime of travel experience allows me to effectively match my customer’s desires with their perfect cruise at a competitive price. Though initially slow, through trust, honesty and perseverance I have built a loyal customer base that continues to grow and expand. Getting people to trust your judgment is extremely challenging yet extremely rewarding when they do.
Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Cruisinbob – what should we know?
My passion for cruising and travel is a point of pride. I utilize my knowledge and expertise to provide personal service to my customers, many of whom have become my friends. I offer every type of cruise available from the family budget vacation to the high-end luxury experience, as well as tour packages and international airfares. Very often, I receive queries from travelers on a wide range of travel related subjects and I do my best to help them out. As a veteran, I wanted to ‘give-back’ to the community so I teamed up with a local non-profit veteran’s organization called the ‘Purple Heart Cruise’ and was selected as their exclusive booking agent. It is one of the most important and rewarding aspects of my business and I work on a volunteer basis at ‘no cost’ for the benefit of the wounded warriors that this foundation supports. I am honored to do.
