Meet Brittanie Quain of Southern Peach Floral in Acworth

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brittanie Quain.

Brittanie, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I grew up working in my family’s award-winning floral and event company in Orlando, FL. I started with miscellaneous tasks and assisting on set up for weddings. It wasn’t long before I was designing and leading teams for weddings and events. I’ve always had a passion for creating unique and beautiful things. I moved to Georgia 5 years ago and decided to start my own floral business a little over a year ago. My grandmother was a florist, my mother is a florist, and so I decided to carry on the family legacy. I guess you could say it’s in my blood!

Has it been a smooth road?
Every small business has their fair share of challenges when starting up. I definitely felt out of the loop when it came to knowing the best venues, vendors, and wholesalers because I did not grow up here. I quickly learned that networking is EVERYTHING! I started out doing a few friends weddings and some styled shoots and before long I was getting referrals and starting booking more weddings! I consider myself a fairly organized person (I am also an office manager at my local church) and I’ve also had experience in other administrative roles as well, but taking on the bookkeeping, purchasing, social media, website, emails, meetings in addition to the designing and set up for weddings was all a bit overwhelming. I am also a fairly new mom (I have a 2-year-old son) and so everything became a great balancing act! It’s not always easy, but it’s so worth it!

I think what sets me apart is that I am young and have an innovative design style! I love using organic and locally grown ingredients in my designs. I also love fashion and designing jewelry in my spare time. One of my favorite ways to give back to the community is to donate flowers to the local nursing homes and hospitals and give back to the community with my craft.

Let’s touch on your thoughts about our city – what do you like the most and least?
I love the small town feel of Acworth. This city has almost everything I could ever need or want. I love that a drive to the mountains is less than 45 minutes. I love the unique shops and restaurants, I love the genuine southern hospitality. (I guess you could say that’s how I was inspired to come up with the name Southern Peach Floral). I would never have thought I would end up here, but feel like I can really plant roots because the community is so welcoming, kind and supportive.
