Today we’d like to introduce you to Ced Wynez.
Ced, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I was born and raised in Miami, FL. I’m from an area called Liberty City one the roughest areas in South Florida. I started creating music in 2005 while I was living in Savannah, Ga. I went to the bank and empty out my bank account and brought a Triton LE keyboard for $600 bucks. I was making a beats for a couple of artists in the area at that time. Fast forward into 2007, I moved back to South Florida and started working at Guitar Center. While working for GC, I learned a lot about recording, the business, and begin networking with people who was in the music business.
In 2010, I moved to Atlanta, GA. I then realized how great the music scene was and started to network with different people in the city. I was producing music for the local talent and other talent across the country. I landed a few placements in indie films, commercials, and landed a placement in an app video game. I also lived in Rock Hill, SC for two years right outside of Charlotte, NC. I networked with a few artists and Djs in the NC/SC area. I become part of the Fleet Djs as a Fleet producer for a brief moment.
Now I’m back in Atlanta. I started my own record label “Dade Music Group” and opened up a recording studio in North Atlanta. I’m also a General Manager of the Beat Battle team called ATL Track Monsters. I become an A&R under One Dynasty Entertainment where I help guide the careers of two artists under the label. I have a lot going as you can see lol. But this is my passion and I love the music business.
Has it been a smooth road?
The road to greatness is never smooth. On this path you go through a lot trials and tribulations. Not only I had to deal with ups and down of the music industry but also the ups and downs in my personal life. From financial issues, dealing my woman, my kids, being semi-homeless. When I moved back to Atlanta, I had to sleep in my truck many of days and nights. Sleeping on the studio couches. I made and still making a lot sacrifices just to be successful in this music industry. The road isn’t smooth at all.
We’d love to hear more about your business.
I have a few companies. One of them are Beats By Ced Productions. Beats By Ced is a production brand that any artists that work with us they are a part of an entity that behind them. Not just music alone but the information we provide that will guide them throughout their career. Licensing beats is our main focus but We want to give artists great quality beats without breaking their pockets. We offer other affordable services as well. What we are most proud of is we have our own mobile app. Now artists, managers, labels can stay updated frequently throughout the course of the day. Updates on new beats, blog information, videos, and much more. We are the only production company who has a mobile app that’s available for android and iPhone. That set us apart from all others.
Is our city a good place to do what you do?
Even tho Atlanta has changed a lot in the past nine years since I been here, ATL is still a great place to start a business in music. There are many opportunities here for artists, producers, and indie labels to learn and succeed. I would definitely recommend Atlanta for any musician to come and breakthrough. Especially hip hop.
