Meet Courtney Skipper of Empowerment Real Estate and Investing in Smyrna

Today we’d like to introduce you to Courtney Skipper.

Courtney, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
When I was 22 years old, I purchased my first condo in Smyrna. I had no idea what I was doing, nor did I understand the process, but real estate has always piqued my interest. After doing a lot of research on purchasing my first home and being able to experience firsthand what it felt like to receive the keys of my first home, I began obsessing over the Atlanta market. This was the beginning of my real estate journey and I claimed that I would be a real estate agent soon. Although I had a love for real estate, I was also happy in my day job and wanted to continue advancing in my career. I decided to return to school and obtained my master’s degree in 2018. It was at this time, I decided to pursue my dreams in real estate. I reached out to an agent and began working as her assistant until I got my license. I also would spend my weekends visiting open houses and speaking with various agents, gleaning all the knowledge I could for the Atlanta real estate market. Soon after, I purchased an investment property and decided to work alongside a top new real estate agent as her mentee, she brought me into Palmer House Properties and showed me the value of personal branding and social media. Now, I not only hold personal experience in purchasing, but I’ve also helped many people accomplish their homeownership goal as well.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I was always told “nothing worth having comes easy” and real estate is no different. The journey has always been difficult but giving up was never an option. I studied hard to pass the class (I didn’t pass the class the 1st time but kept going) and test while having a full-time job at a Fortune 500 company. Once I obtained my license, I stayed diligent in my studying and I began to face the natural obstacles of being a real estate agent. Driving across town to disappointing homes, losing deals, feeling anxiety, dealing with rude agents… the list can go on and on. When I say to my clients, “Welcome Home!” It makes the journey worth it. I fight hard for my clients because their success is my success! My goal is to help my clients make educated decisions and to celebrate their wins. We are building generational wealth and I am excited to be a part of it. A home is one of the largest investments you can make and I want my clients to have a stress-free experience when purchasing their home.

Empowerment Real Estate and Investing – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I created Empowerment Real Estate and Investing to be an umbrella for my real estate business. I specialize in first time home buyers, second primary home buyers, those who are relocating to Georgia and those who would like to sell their home. Although I can help assist in all aspects of real estate, I like to focus on those main areas because I can personally relate to those in that position. I am so proud of my growing company because of the personal values I hold that carry into my business. I make sure all of my clients have a clear understanding of the process and can make educated decisions by weighing the pros and the cons. I walk with integrity and honor, anyone who is working with my company can tell they are in good hands.

What moment in your career do you look back most fondly on?
It is so hard to find a good real estate agent. When I say good, I mean, trusting, hard-working, strategic, knowledgeable, friendly, patient and tenacious. I possess all of those characteristics because I understand the importance of each one. When determining who will be your realtor, you just take into consideration who can you trust to put your interest above theirs to ensure the job is done well. I take pride in my work and I constantly strategize to find the best for all of my clients. I am well educated and continuously train on a wide range of topics. With each and every client, I hold prestige customer service and remain patient and tenacious as I know that this process can become tiring. I take the stress and burden from the purchasing process off of my clients’ shoulders and I wear it with pride.
