Meet Dr. Lena Payton Webb of Blu Impressions Publishing llc

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Lena Payton Webb.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I’m Dr. Lena Payton Webb, a Detroit native, proud Army veteran, and now the CEO of Blu Impressions Publishing. My journey wasn’t a straight path—it was a calling shaped by service, struggle, and purpose.

After serving over 21 years in the military, I found myself at a crossroads. I had given my life to structure, leadership, and service—but I was still searching for something more personal. Then came a life-altering chapter: I lost my vision and was declared legally blind for four years. During that season, I began retraining my eyes using a children’s coloring book. That small spark reignited my love for creativity, words, and healing. But more importantly, it reminded me of the power of representation—I couldn’t find books that looked like me, felt like me, or spoke to my community… so I created them.

I launched Blu Impressions Publishing with a mission to help coaches, consultants, and everyday visionaries turn their stories into legacy-building tools. We specialize in self-help books, custom journals, workbooks, and coloring books—not just to publish, but to position our clients as experts and help them create impact, influence, and income.

Now, I get to live out my purpose every day—helping others heal, lead, and elevate through the power of their own voice. From the pages to the stage, I help experts become authors and authors become authorities.

And the best part? I’m just getting started.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Not at all—this journey has been anything but smooth, and I’m grateful for every bump in the road because it refined me.

One of my biggest challenges was losing my vision. Being declared legally blind for four years turned my world upside down. As someone who had spent decades serving in the military and leading others, suddenly needing help myself was humbling. But it was also the beginning of something powerful. That season forced me to slow down, to reimagine what purpose looked like, and to rediscover my gifts through the very act of healing.

There were also the struggles that come with transitioning from military life to entrepreneurship—finding my voice outside of the uniform, navigating business as a Black woman, and learning how to lead creatively after decades of structure. I had to teach myself how to build a brand, a business, and a movement from scratch.

But every obstacle became a lesson. Every delay became a detour to something greater. And now, I help others turn their own pain into purpose—because I’ve lived it.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
Absolutely. I’m the founder and CEO of Blu Impressions Publishing, a six-figure, award-winning publishing company based on purpose, legacy, and results. We specialize in helping coaches, consultants, entrepreneurs, and speakers transform their expertise and personal stories into powerful, profitable published assets—like self-help books, journals, workbooks, and custom coloring books.

What sets us apart is our concept-to-creation approach. We don’t just help you publish a book—we help you build a brand and a legacy. Our signature “Expert to Author”™ framework is designed to take clients from idea to income by combining publishing with business strategy. Through our Pages to Profits™ 3-Day Book Boot Camp, we help authors complete 80% of their book in just 3 days—then we handle editing, design, formatting, and even distribution.

We’re known for making our clients feel seen, heard, and supported. Many of them come to us with a message on their heart but no idea how to bring it to life. We provide the tools, coaching, and execution needed to turn their expertise into something tangible—and impactful.

What I’m most proud of brand-wise? The fact that we don’t just create books—we create results. Our clients walk away with more than a finished manuscript—they walk away with clarity, confidence, and a roadmap to monetize their message.

For readers, know this: if you’ve ever felt called to write a book that impacts lives, builds credibility, and generates income—you don’t have to do it alone. At Blu Impressions, we don’t just publish books. We position voices, elevate brands, and build legacy—one story at a time.

How do you think about happiness?
What makes me happy is seeing transformation—especially when someone realizes the power of their own voice. There’s something incredibly joyful about watching a client go from uncertain to unstoppable. I live for that moment when a woman holds her book for the first time and says, “I did this.”

That moment is never just about paper and ink—it’s about healing, impact, and legacy. It makes me happy because I know her story will now reach others, open doors, and create opportunities she never imagined.

It reminds me that the work I do is purpose-driven. Helping others turn their pain into purpose and their expertise into tools that change lives—that’s what lights me up. That’s why I keep going.
