Today we’d like to introduce you to Francesca Marcos.
Hi Francesca, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
26 years old Venezuelan, currently living in Miami, FL. Graphic designer, content creator, and marketing specialist.
Three years ago, I found out I wanted to become an entrepreneur and work on myself for myself. That’s when I started my own clothing brand called “FRSA CLUB” in which I’m able to work on my graphic design skills through fashion, which is my favorite combo. It is called “club” because it is not just another brand out there. FRSA focuses on minimal everyday basics, high quality, ethically made, sustainable, designed, and made in the U.S.; coming together with other young artists & entrepreneurs with limited edition pieces that represent some type of artistic movement. It is currently being sold in five stores and online, shipping worldwide. Besides having my own company, I work as a marketing specialist for other brands that I consider that have the potential to grow and develop in any desired area. My life motto is that I was “Born to Create” because I am always looking for new ways of expressing myself through visual arts. I believe there’s a whole world behind it and seeing how society comes together by it and one can build up a community is just fulfilling. I always try to work towards the future in a very authentic way which is living in the present moment to the fullest, taking everything I can from each day I get to be in this beautiful world.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely, it has not just been like everything in life. Having your own small business means not knowing what the outcome will be as much as you have it planned. I’ve had collections where I think nobody will like it, and then everyone loves it, so does happens the other way around. The only thing that has been consistent is what I have learned from each of them. There is no way experience can’t make you better at what you do, so to me, the outcome doesn’t really matter because I try to enjoy the process as much as I can and I know it is teaching me something I didn’t know before. For example, a struggle I had on the most recent collection was that I did an entire photoshoot/video shoot at a studio with a “professional” photographer that showed me a beautiful portfolio. After the days passed by, I asked for the material in order to launch the collection and she said: “I don’t know how, but I lost the photos and videos I took.” Not only did I kind of lose that money, but also the time and effort I put into that photo shoot. I was very upset, but something I learned from this was to improvise and do what I can with what I had.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
I would say I do a little bit of everything. Nowadays, I specialize more in digital marketing, but honestly, I have so many roles. Sometimes I get to model, sometimes I get to be a photographer, sometimes I am a graphic designer, sometimes I am a fashion designer, and so on. I love being creative, as simple as that. No labels, no specific roles, just a human with lots of creativity inside that need to be shown in many different ways. There’s room for all, there’s growth for all.
Can you talk to us a bit about the role of luck?
The “influencer” role in my life has had very good luck. As cheesy and cliche as it may sound, it has definitely opened many doors for me, not only professionally but also relationship-wise. If I get to do a new project, launch a new collection, or work with a brand, it is through social media that I have gotten to where I am. I wouldn’t say there’s a role that has given me “bad luck” since I don’t believe in that!! Everything not so good is there to make us even better!
