Meet Jasmine Adams of Speech Glam Speech and Language Therapy Services, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jasmine Adams

Hi Jasmine, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My journey began in 2015 as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in Fulton County Schools, where I had the privilege of working under licensed SLPs to provide therapy services to children. From the very beginning, I felt an undeniable passion for helping children find their voices. I quickly realized that every child’s needs are unique, and I began creating customized materials tailored to each of my students. This creative spark led to the birth of my first venture, Speech Glam, in 2018, an educational resource brand designed for lower elementary teachers, SLPs, special education teachers, and homeschool parents. I launched an online store on Teachers Pay Teachers, sharing resources that have since reached countless educators and families.

While working in the school settings, I noticed how many children were entering into school significantly behind their peers. This inspired me to take a leap of faith. After earning my master’s degree and becoming a fully licensed and certified SLP, I decided to go beyond the school setting and launched my private practice, Speech Glam Speech and Language Therapy Services, in November 2023. Initially, I focused on partnering with daycare centers to deliver services directly where young children needed them most.

By January 2024, word-of-mouth referrals and my advocacy for the importance of early intervention, I increased my office size, offering services not only in daycare centers but also in-office and through teletherapy. It was a bittersweet moment when I resigned from the school system to dedicate myself fully to my practice, but my mission was clear: bridge the communication gap and give children the tools they need to thrive.

Today, my passion is rooted in early intervention, starting as young as one year old, and supporting children with autism. My work is not just a career, it’s a calling. Through Speech Glam, I am committed to empowering children and their families, one word, one connection, and one breakthrough at a time.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
When I first launched Speech Glam as a business, I knew nothing about running one. I wasn’t just stepping out of my comfort zone, I was leaping into the unknown. I spent countless hours taking classes, attending workshops, and doing research to learn the ins and outs of entrepreneurship. One of my biggest personal hurdles was overcoming fear. Taking leaps, like transitioning from a stable school-based position to opening my private practice was terrifying. I was very comfortable with my school-based job.

Another significant challenge has been finding and hiring qualified therapists who align with my vision. Building a team that shares my commitment to bridging communication gaps has been more difficult than I expected.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At Speech Glam, we’re all about helping children find their voices and reach their fullest potential. Our mission is to bridge communication gaps and provide children with the tools they need to thrive.
