Today we’d like to introduce you to Latoya Jones
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Latoya Jones, and I am the founder and CEO of J and J Professional Services Inc., of Atlanta, Georgia. I’m a mother,a grandmother and a wife I am originally from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, where I was raised by my grandparents my father’s parents who instilled in me that you have to work hard for everything you want. They taught me early on to be a leader by having me involved in many different areas of church my family literally attended church seven days a week lol, but it’s taught me so much about leadership and help me develop into the women I am today. I have always possessed an entrepreneurial spirit that ignited as far back as elementary school , where I began selling candy to my classmates. This early drive led me to pursue my passion for beauty by obtaining my nail license in the 10th grade, shortly after obtaining my license I spent my high school years perfecting my craft in nail care.
After graduating high school, I took my passion for entrepreneurship more seriously by working in many shops. Upon relocating to Georgia, I opened my own studio suite, which allowed me to further explore my business aspirations. My journey into the financial world began when I started doing taxes on the side. The pivotal moment came in 2020 during the global pandemic, a time when many faced unprecedented challenges. I decided to leverage my knowledge of taxes and tax laws to launch my own tax business, transforming a moment of uncertainty into an opportunity for growth.
In 2022, I took a significant step forward by assembling a dedicated team, enhancing our service offerings and expanding our capabilities. I am incredibly grateful for the unwavering support of my husband, Malcom Jones II, who has been my greatest advocate and motivator. His encouragement reminds me daily that there are no limits to what I can achieve.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Before getting my own EFIN it was definitely a bumpy ride, I always try to remain optimistic about every struggle looking for the lesson so I can definitely say despite how it started it’s definitely smooth sailing now, which I am forever grateful for due to the way a lot of small businesses are being affected we have kept the faith and God continues to provide for me and my team.

J and J Professional Services Inc offers tax preparation services for personal and business needs,credit counseling, bookkeeping services, accounting , notary and business development. I have hosted two successful years of Tax Academy, equipping aspiring tax professionals with the skills and knowledge necessary for success. I have also written an eBook designed to assist EROs (Electronic Return Originators) in training their teams effectively and we also provide tax software for professional tax preparers called Lenox Professional Tax Software. My journey is just beginning, and I am excited for what the future holds for J and J Professional Services Inc. What makes you happy?
My family makes me happy! But I truly love to help others, I can remember as far back to being about 4 or 5 years old and my grandmother and aunt my dad’s youngest sister would always help as many people as they could no matter what, now of course times have changed you can’t help everyone but strive to help as many people as I can.
