Hi Sapphire, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a national recording artist and actress. I started doing music at age 5. Started my solo singing career in January 2021. Since I have released a couple of singles and my Debut Album “Personal”. All are available on every streaming platform. I began my acting journey in the summer of 2022. I am the lead female actress, Cricket in a TV Series Drama called The Agony and The Ecstasy, based on KCMO. It will be released on Tubi in the near future.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
My journey has been up and down. It’s extremely hard to be an independent artist. Financially, it’s been the hardest. I pride myself on being resilient and that has allowed me to bounce back from any setbacks I’ve had along the way. I am 6 months cancer-free today. Getting sick put a huge damper in my career, but since recovery, I have been going hard nonstop with headlining shows, music videos, and collabs. So much is on the way!!!!!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am most proud of my album. I know you don’t have to be talented to trend these days so I am proud that I put out a quality album. It was written by me from the heart and from real experiences. I hope that more people hear it and enjoy it. My versatility and sound set me apart from others. I have an extensive choir background, and I use all my music theory knowledge to help me with vocal production.
Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
I’d tell anyone inspiring to do music to stay true to themselves and accept that you’re not going to be for everyone, but there is an audience for everyone. It’s going to take a lot of work!!! You have to have thick skin to be in this industry because internet trolls have no mercy on you. DREAM BIG!!!!!!!
