Meet Shavon Hunter of La Soirée Chic Events in South Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shavon Hunter.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Shavon. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I got started in event planning with my sister nearly 20 years ago as a creative outlet. After years of it being a passionate hobby, we decided to make it official and La Soirée Chic Events was born. Fast forward to today and now I’m a solo act that is trying to fill a void in the industry by catering to an audience that desires something small but beautiful.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Of course not. Pricing has been a struggle over time. As I began to mature into my craft, I’d be challenged with whether or not to increase my rates. However, I overcame this struggle but accepting that clients that are a good match for me will see the value in their investment and won’t need to be convinced about it. Another struggle has been finding the right marketing and advertising platform. I’ve tried my fair share but I think I’ve found one that works for me.

La Soirée Chic Events – what should we know? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
La Soirée Chic Events is an event planning boutique based in Atlanta, Georgia, specializing in Elopements, Micro Weddings, and Soirées. We team up with trusted FRIENDors and top industry professionals to design custom events just for you. Nothing cookie-cutter here! We take pride in producing beautiful celebrations that might be intimate in size but grand in style and execution. The thing that sets me apart from others is my genuine passion for creating aesthetically pleasing but affordable events for everyday people.

So, what’s next? Any big plans?
My future looks pretty bright, but you’ll have to stay in touch to see what I have in store. I’m really looking forward to my next phase (wink).
