Thanks for sharing your story with us Horace. So, let’s start at the beginning and we can move on from there.
I’m just a guy from a small town with a big dream. I’m from a town in Monticello, GA. I attended Gordon State College after high school and received my associate degree, I also attended Clayton State University where I received my bachelors. Both colleges played a huge part in my business success. I wanted to start a business to provide generational wealth for my kids. The dream is that by the time they are done with high school SSHI will be the top home inspection company in the state of Georgia. I currently have a wonderful wife Patrice and two kids, Eli and Journey.
A few years ago, I became fascinated with successful business minded people such as Tyler Perry, Curtis Jackson, and Steve Harvey. I invested in books such as Tyler Perry Higher is Waiting and Steve Harvey Jump for motivation. I was intrigued by the fact that these guys were not only famous but how they generated their wealth.
I decided to start a home inspection business because there weren’t many companies in the Mcdonough area and the real estate industry is booming right now. I attended the Georgia Conference of Home Inspectors were I obtained my license. For the last three years, I have worked with companies such as Atlanta Best Realty (ABR), Keller Williams, Harry Norman Realtors, Maximum One Realty and Better Homes and Gardens Real Estate Metro Brokers to name a few. During that timeframe, we have completed several hundred inspections ranging from Athens, GA to Warner Robins, GA. Each year the goal is to build and create an everlasting relationship within the industry so my kids can continue to build the family business.
We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc. – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
Its’ has been a smooth road to this point. I can say its’ a lot of hard work but what job isn’t. I have several realtors that I primary work with along with recommendations from previous clients and a strong marketing team that provide consistent work.

We do Home Inspections for clients that are willing to pay for us to find and report damages before they purchase the house. A visual and physical inspection is done first and once complete the client and realtor will have their report by the end of the business.
So, what’s next? Any big plans?
Yes. I plan on hiring and training five new home inspectors next year to work under my license.
