Today we’d like to introduce you to Tiana Glover.
Tiana, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
The journey becoming TG The Mogul has been so surreal to watch unravel. I started my interest in Graphic Design back in 2010 when I was in high school, because of my graduation project that allowed me to create a saddle stitched Magazine where I was the editor in chief and designer as well. However, I had a mentor who is still my mentor to this day that I shadowed during the process. I thoroughly enjoyed the process and decided I wanted to attend college to study Visual Communications to become a graphic designer and ultimately have my own business. While I was in college, I would design flyers and logos for organizations on campus as TG Graphics, not knowing that this was the true start to my brand. I landed internships with my Alma Maters Art Museum to create the gallery catalogs for the openings for each artist and assisted my friends with all of their design needs from grad announcements to birthday invitations. My sophomore year in college spring of 2013, I lost my dad and this was a very pivotal moment for me to figure out what I truly wanted to do career-wise. I knew TG Graphics was my side hustle and that I wanted to expand my services to more than graphics, so I had to continue networking on campus with graphics and as I decided to take a course on photojournalism on campus to find a way to incorporate this to my skills set.
While attending college in 2015 my senior year, I took on learning photography and shadowed my cousins’ wife during some of her weddings to learn more photography and watch how things flow as this was a new service I was putting under my belt. Graduating Cum Laude from North Carolina Central University was one of the best parts to my journey as this is the time I truly learned who I was as a creative and forced myself to become the best in my craft. Having now successfully shot multiple weddings, The Prevailing Woman Conference in Durham, NC and BYOB Live Retreat in Atlanta I have built my brand in media photography by networking. I have managed to jump onboard with Drew and the BYOB Team as an ambassador and connect with businesswoman and Girl Ceo, Inc owner Ronne Brown who has poured so much wisdom into me as a big sis to where I have been able to grow as a personal brand. Today, though most of my family and friends know me as Tiana or T, my clients know personal brand TG The Mogul.
In 2019, my business transitioned from Tiana Glover Graphics to TG The Mogul as business grew tremendously after working with high-end clients such as Mom Redefined owner Gerikka Bunche, Whitney Austin, Dutchess of Ink, Captivate owner Charity Washington, and a local radio personality Autumn Joi Live. The journey to becoming the mogul in graphics working with clients who need storefront signs, hangtags, logos and flyers to now web sites and branding. Being a small-town girl from Durham, NC I always imagined becoming the high-end creative mogul working with some of the very best in business. Now with faith and ten years plus dedication to my business, I have 100% found my niche and space in this very populated industry.
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
One of the biggest struggles has been financially being able to leverage my brand after losing the household breadwinner while I was in college, and truly having to fund my business without my parentals help, because even though my mom has been my momager, I did not want her to struggle with bills trying to help me fund my dreams and goals. So, for the past four years I have worked full-time and ran my business after hours to make it happen for my clients.
TG The Mogul – what should we know? What do you do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
