Meet Zebo G of Zebonc in Buckhead

Today we’d like to introduce you to Zebo G.

Zebo, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
Late 2016, I got into college and picked up Film Studies as a minor while communications was my major. Through college. After completing certain projects in my classes that required directing, shooting, and editing, I took a risk and started to tell rappers around campus that I can shoot their music video so I can get myself in the door. Long story short, I shot some music videos and boom, I was in the game. After graduating college, I jumped into the work field and worked at a technology company M-F 8-5 and absolutely hated it. It was so boring and lame! I would hide in the bathroom to edit videos and watch Rolling Loud sets. I stayed for a little less than a year and decided to quit. Ever since I quit, I committed my life to videography and doing what I want to do. I shoot music videos, throw shows showcasing the underground, got a successful clothing brand with my brothers Johnny Singels & TJ Smith, and so much more; it’s crazy. Something my dad always told me was to put myself first and that’s exactly what I do.

We’re always bombarded by how great it is to pursue your passion, etc – but we’ve spoken with enough people to know that it’s not always easy. Overall, would you say things have been easy for you?
It’s been pretty smooth; I’ve taken some wins and losses, gained some friends, lost some friends. Ya know. Who hasn’t? I’m blessed to have a lot of support along this journey. It’s been a blast so far. Without Johnny Singels, TJ Smith, Martina Edwards, God, my family and a few others, I don’t know where I would be at with this, for real.

We’d love to hear more about your work.
Zebonc is my media outlet for everything I do with videos, photos, and clothing. I am also a videographer for All Angels alongside with photographer/videographer Sheldon Kearse which is the best photographer hands down. I am a videographer, director, and producer, and creative coordinator for Zebonc. I am proud of myself for still going strong and not giving up. Something that sticks out for Zebo and All Angels is how authentic and clean the final product comes out. Professionalism and presentation is important. You need that!

What were you like growing up?
I played video games a lot. From Nintendo 64 to PS4, I had it all. I used to play basketball as a younger kid and still love the game. The thing in my neighborhood though was skateboarding. My friends and I would skate for hours every day after watching Bam Margera skateboarding videos. I was a huge internet person, an adrenaline junkie, and a big gamer. I would take my dad’s camera and take pictures/videos of me and my friends mobbing around the streets and that was my first proper introduction to a camera. To conclude, I was mostly interested in skateboarding more than anything and being a part of the skate culture 15+ years later is such a good feeling; I didn’t let my inner kid down like a lot of people I know. Ya know?
