Today we’d like to introduce you to Brandy Jenkins.
Brandy, we’d love to hear your story and how you got to where you are today both personally and as an artist.
With a ten year career rooted in serving others in the oncology medical field, I decided to walk away and leave it all behind after the birth of my daughter in April 2017. With a new chapter in life as being a mother to a precious baby girl, my husband and I knew we wanted to instill in her the importance of having faith, giving back, showing grace, and being a strong, empowered woman. Wanting to lead and teach her by example, I turned on an entrepreneurial mindset and pondered how I could creatively merge all of my interests and passions while also maintaining my flexibility as being a stay-at-home mom. After putting all of the pieces together in this puzzle, Goodie & Grace gift box company was born. With the new addition of our second child less than a month ago, our little growing family couldn’t be more ecstatic about the path we’ve created.
We’d love to hear more about your art. What do you do you do and why and what do you hope others will take away from your work?
Goodie & Grace is a bespoke gift box company that takes the stress and uncertainty out of gift giving for you. Each gift box is thoughtfully and intentionally created by hand picking goodies and treasures from small-batch companies and businesses who also look to serve in their communities. Goodie & Grace keeps it personal by providing each gift recipient a handwritten note directly from the thoughts of their gift sender. We happily take care of client needs for all occasions including the celebrations of a new bride, birthday, new home or job, to well wishes and sympathies.
Each Goodie & Grace gift box purchased goes towards providing goodies stateside & worldwide by donating food, water, medicine, supplies & gear to those in need. Having been in business for less than one year, Goodie & Grace has successfully been able to provide 1,000 hot meals to those in need!
Do current events, local or global, affect your work and what you are focused on?
In today’s world, the role of an artist as an individual creative thinker has never been more important. The necessity to think outside the box and have your own point of view is essential for the growth, change, and development in a healthy world. Not having art and diversity can make for stagnant culture.
