Check Out Andre Tyrone (Andre Oliver)’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andre Tyrone (Andre Oliver) .

Hi Andre, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
From the young age of five, I knew that I wanted to sing and write music, I started out in the church youth choir where I got my first solo and that was it! After that, I was in a number of talent shows and events where I learned the art of writing and performance. Over the years I started to realize that I was going to take more than talent to make it, I needed to know the music business and learn mu “core audience” Self-discovery and awareness also play a huge part in the continued discovery of Andre. It was my late grandmother (Betty) who suggested that I use my first and middle name as my stage name (Andre Tyrone) she always told me to “be myself and be myself on purpose” Today because of people like my mom (Belinda), my sisters (Chavva and Tangy), my friend and pastor (Wendel), My mentor (Tavares) and close friends (Deborah and John) I am able to set my sights on bigger things, two albums, tons of features, shows, and interviews becoming who I said I would is closer than ever. Over the past years relationships, friendships and family have allowed me the space and time to prepare for what comes next. I recently struggled and battled with heavy depression and anxiety that lead to (2) suicide attempts, this is where I discovered the amazing world of therapy, starting that journey has really done good for my music, When I sit down now to write, I have a different outlook on things, love, sexuality, and communication are just a few areas of my life that really needed work. I hope to add more supporters to the musical journey of Andre Tyrone, the next chapter in my story is already showing great promise.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, it has not been smooth:

Learning to love my voice because it’s not like others.

Self-discovery this was needed in order for me to make the right kind of music the music I was really are proud of.

Discernment, people will lie to you, use you and disappear. Learning what’s real.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
As a song written, I have learned that different things work for different artists. In my circle of music friends, I’m known as the “one with passion in his voice “Whenever they need a love ballad or something from the heart, they reach out to me. I am very proud that I can transform a beat into a journey, I try to do this with the first line of the song, that to me is the “Gold” if I can hook you with the opening line then you will more than likely listen to most if not all of the song. My single “Dangerous Game” from 2015 starts off with the line “The sun is set, and there’s fire in the sky” It always gives me chills when ‘I perform it. and even when I recorded it. Later on, I dropped another song “WIN” starts off with “When it rains it pours, coming through the doors I see you” I always picture what I would do If I hear the beat for the first time or if I’m in the video at that moment. And of course, my voice is different from others I used to really hate my voice, I can remember getting DMs from people telling me to do more with my runs, this would make me more popular. I would reply, “Thanks but my voice is fine where it is” it would hurt my feelings and cause me to step away for a while. Now I understand that my voice is my superpower, from the style to the passion and power, it’s my voice.

Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
I am goofy, a nerd, these characteristics have always been a part of me, and often get met with mixed emotions, somewhere along the way we think that artists should be serious at all times when the real secret is the more you accept who you are, the better things will feel, writing, singing will all feel different. Once I learned that and began to nurture it, my rehearsal times are so much of a self-discovery journey and don’t feel like work. After a full day of working two jobs and being in school, I look forward to rehearsing, it’s a time to release the day’s stresses. One of the songs I love to do every rehearsal is from my “Let’s Begin ” project called “Laugh and Cry” the amount of passion I pour out of myself to do this song just blows my mind.
