Today we’d like to introduce you to B Walker.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started my career as a Medical Office Administrator 11 years ago. Once I started working in Dermatology, that’s where my love for body contouring started. 2019, I became so passionate about helping clients reach their goals and make them feel good about themselves. I decided to make my dreams come true and attend a body contouring class in Decatur, GA, where I received my certification in Body Sculpting. I stepped out on faith and opened Bodied by B Body Sculpting LLC during the beginning of the pandemic. I had a lot of people telling me that I was crazy for opening a business during the height of COVID-19. I’m so glad that I didn’t listen to them.
During that time, I asked myself what can I do or sell that can help my business while the state was closed. I was up countless of nights thinking about and reaching out to different vendors until I came up with the idea to sell waist trainers and body cream. I started Body by B Body Sculpting LLC to provide people with the opportunity to sculpt the body of their dreams in a way that will bring out the confident person inside each of us. Fast forward to now, I have five different products I sell; business is doing great, just started teaching body sculpting training classes and started a new business venture selling natural soaps, candles, body butters, and body scrubs called Sweet Scents LLC.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road considering me opening my business the month COVID-19 hit. I did question my decision on opening my business. I couldn’t find a good location to do my service due to everything was starting to close. It took forever to get my business recognized because all the state and federal buildings was closing. The struggle was all in my head. I cried many nights, contemplating on should I just throw this big dream of mine away. It felt like nothing was going right. As soon as I come up with a great business plan COVID hit and tried to cancel my dream of being a business owner.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I’m a certified Body Sculpting Specialist. I specialize in making my client feel good about their bodies by doing non-invasive fat reduction, which contains multiple different procedures designed to dissolve stubborn fat, tighten skin, and shape different areas of the body. I’m most known for my passion in my work. I’m most proud of not allowing myself to fail. What sets me apart from others is I really care about all my clients, I don’t rush my services, and I listen to my client’s goal and I help the achieve it. It’s not about the money for me. It’s about my client’s self-confidence.
Can you talk about how you think about risk?
I can be the face of risk-taking. Not listening to what people were telling me. Stepping out on faith (major) and starting my business during COVID-19. I seen businesses that were open for years close their doors permanently due to the pandemic. Yet, I still believed in myself and my passion to open up. My business was official in April and I was open for business in May 2020. If something is your passion, DO IT!!! Don’t allow people or even yourself to get in your head. It can be done. All you have to do is take that risk and step out on faith.
