Today we’d like to introduce you to Darrel Maxam.
Hi Darrel, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
We started eight years ago. We were able to build tiny homes and then pivoted to building treehouses. We have 4 bungalows and three treehouses currently.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
There has been many challenges for us. I have built all of these structures myself. Many struggles working a full time and literally building your dream. I had to decide where I wanted to spend most of my time. I decided it would be creating magical spaces.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I previously worked at the Atlanta airport. I have a degree in marketing, master’s in construction management and my MBA in project management.
I am most proud of my design skills and the ability to build things. It is a niche in the world today. Many people who have degrees such as myself are not able to create structures from scratch by themselves.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
My wife Patrice Coney also deserves credit. She is part owner and interior designer for our business.
