Today we’d like to introduce you to Imani Turner.
Hi Imani, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My name is Imani Turner. I am from Detroit, MI. What makes me different is that I am faith-driven. I believe that I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. I have eclectic sense of unique style. My hazel eyes make me easy to remember.
My personality is humbled, and I also have a wonderful sense of humor. I have a bright outlook on life, believing if I work hard, I can accomplish all my goals and inspirations I set to accomplish.
My habits are healthy. I work out three times a week and drink plenty water. On my free time, I enjoy working out doing Mixed Fit.
I set to accomplish a modeling and acting career that allows me to keep my faith and not jeopardize who I am while trying to please others to accomplish fame. Aiming to keep a schedule of how I want to spend my time and keep motivated on exercising time for studying acting/modeling techniques.
Taking workshop classes to keep up with the latest trends on the constant changing entertainment industry professionals and what casting directors and talent agency look for when considering booking a talent is also very important to me.
In the next five years, I would love to be married and a homeowner. Staying organized I believe will also help my career. Practicing self-tape auditions. Get as much exposure as possible. Build my social media following. Learn to embrace rejection. Study and understand posing and aim to keep believing in myself to accomplish my short and long-term goals.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Along the way, I have been working full-time while attempting to pursue my acting and modeling goals. Every day is a day-to-day process and we have to take enough time to focus one by one on each task to complete. The motto I live by is to take it one day at a time. Whatever problem may arise, it’s always tomorrow.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I’m an actor/model & TV host. I’m SAG eligible and Equity eligible. I’m proud to be eligible to join the Skilled Actor’s Union and Actors’ Equity Association. What sets me apart from others is my Faith in God that through him, I can do all things. I’m humble, outgoing, and dedicated to making my dreams come true in all areas of my life. I’m focused on joining the Skilled Actor’s Union and Actor’s Equity Association to have the opportunity for greater earning potential, job security, and to feel protected while working hard on my craft of acting. I’m also completing workshops to keep all my skills sharp. My goal is that I want my performance to attract, entertain, and educate my audience to tune in and watch my work.
Is there something surprising that you feel even people who know you might not know about?
I have been featured on national television commercials, on tv shows, and published in national magazines. Everyone can currently catch me on Season 22 and 24 of Divorce Court television show playing the role of an audience member. What people may not know about me is how much time I spend inquiring for roles, money I spend on training, and constant traveling that is required of me to be in a demographic area with greater opportunities for roles.
