Today we’d like to introduce you to Jason & Joshua Gbor.
Jason & Joshua, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
We started our careers in modeling at five years old. Model was a model for 12 years then decided to put her boys onto it. Growing up in the church kinda ushered us into music. Joshua found his voice earlier than Jason. Mom made Joshua sing a solo by Tevin Campbell and the song was called tomorrow. He practiced until it was perfect! The day of the performance I closed my eyes and got lost in the song when it was over I opened my eyes and the entire church was up on their feet and tears in their eyes. That’s when I knew I had something! Jason later joined Josh and they became Twin Towerz. Jason was musically inclined as well. He played the drums for the church and Joshua when he sang…
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The road for Gbor was really rocky from the start. Being raised by a single parent and deep into religion, it was really hard finding who they really were. Mom worked several jobs to take care of her boys so it left them to be raised by their grandmother. She was very strict and would not allow them to listen to worldly music so they had to sneak to get inspiration from R&B and Hiphop! They changed the group name from Twin Towers to Gbor! Very scary for them because twin towers was the name everyone knew them by. But That’s where it all began for them. They got signed at 16 and the rest was history. Toured with some of the biggest and best artists around.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know about your work?
We are musical artists and entrepreneurs for The Gbor Brand. We are most proud of music because it’s near and dear to us. Be on the lookout for new music! Our latest single is called Move Forward. We’re getting back to our African roots with this one!
