Today we’d like to introduce you to Jordan Luke.
Hi Jordan, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I started doing cinematography/videography simply as a hobby and to learn how to edit my own dance videos during my junior year of college at Kennesaw State University. I have always kinda had an eye for visual art. I watched a lot of movies, music videos, dance videos, commercials and etc growing up. Some of my close friends and I would drive to the city often to take pictures/videos and find new places to explore. I love the challenge of being creative and creating art that makes people feel something.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, not at all. Without struggle, there’s no progress. I’m glad it hasn’t been an easy road for me, taking on challenges and overcoming the obstacles you face are more rewarding to me than receiving handouts. Many times, I have been discouraged or felt like my ideas or work wasn’t good enough. Time management, wondering when my next gig will come from, and having to shoot, direct, edit, market, post content and engage with your audience are some personal struggles I have at times. Nonetheless, I put my trust in God and keep my faith, he has given me everything thus far and I know it could all go in a second so I’m thankful for all the ups and downs.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I am a versatile content creator and producer that specializes in cinematography and photography. I think what sets me apart from others is my cinematic editing style, musicality in music choice for videos, and my will to learn in this craft. I’m known for being a dancer-athlete/content creator, you never know what you’ll get out of me so I guess that’s what keeps my supporters and audience on their toes when I post new content. My hidden talent is that I am a music producer at heart, I can feel and see music differently from the average human being. I can hear audio and amplify the waves in the music to give my audience chills when they listen to my experience. At this point in my career, I would say my proudest moment has been the number of smiles and excitement I’ve seen on my client’s faces when I have made their vision come to life. That’s a joy for me.
What matters most to you?
Fulfilling the purpose God has me on this earth. Whatever he wants me to do, that’s what we doing.
