Check Out Kaitlin Smith’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kaitlin Smith.

Hi Kaitlin, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Thank you for the opportunity! First off, I am a wife, mom of three littles, and lover of travel and coffee!

I was born into a family that loved to travel, so an appreciation for adventure and memory-making has always been in my blood! Growing up my parents instilled a love of experiences over material items and they loved to explore new places with us. I’m so grateful they did so. Over the years I’ve traveled abroad to Europe, from coast to coast in the U.S. and across the seas on multiple cruises.

A few years ago, we lost my dad very suddenly. It was a harsh reminder of how precious time is. Although we miss him tremendously, I am so incredibly grateful for the trips we took and the memories we made together. I wouldn’t trade them for the world.

Losing my dad launched me into wanting to help other families create similar precious memories. I’ve always been a detailed person who thrived on planning. With the encouragement of my husband, family, and sweet friends, it was obvious that this was my calling.

Life is too short. Take the trip. Make the memories. Live in the moment. You simply won’t regret it.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There have definitely been bumps along the way, but it’s all part of the journey. Goodness, coming out of a pandemic in the travel world has definitely been an uphill battle! Having to stay on top of travel policies, restrictions, and mandates that were constantly changing and varied between travel destination was a challenge in and of itself!

I try my best to take every struggle as a learning opportunity. There is no such thing as perfect, but we can always strive to improve and better ourselves. That’s what I work to do in every situation. (Removed words)

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
I am a Travel Planner-and friends, I love it. The fact that I get to be a part of irreplaceable memories and trips in the lives of my clients is so incredibly rewarding. My clients become more than that–they become friends. We form relationships, and I love that. I also think that is one of the things that sets me apart from others in the field. I genuinely care for those I work with. I am invested in you, your family and your trip.

I was able to achieve Senior Planner status with my agency in less than a year. What that means to me is that people trust me. They trust my skillset. They trust their trips with me. And that is something I am very proud of.

I have planned trips of all types. I do specialize in Destination Weddings and Honeymoons, and I will be earning my Sandals Wedding Specialist certification in the next two months! Yay! I also specialize in Disney Destinations, Universal, All Inclusive resorts and several cruise lines. Not to mention amazing trips abroad!

Can you talk to us a bit about happiness and what makes you happy?
Without a doubt it is watching my clients experience the trip that we have planned for. To see the joy in their pictures and videos as they experience a new place for the first time. These are the big moments-how could that not make me happy!
