Hi Mikki, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My name is Mikki Enix-Vanriel. I am a new business owner for going on 3 years of Candles by Adisa out of PG County MD, but i am originally from Newark, NJ. I am recently married with 2 beautiful baby girls and love staying home with my youngest while building my business.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Being an older Millenium, I struggle the most with getting to know social media marketing. That has been my most challenging bump in the road. I love love love being able to create content but having to keep up with all the platforms, clean posts, hashtags, and updated information is a bit overwhelming while trying to run all other aspects of the business and production. I guess it will be time to hire people soon!
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
Candles by Adisa makes CBD candles, wax melts, and more recently, sample hand sanitizers to help combat the stress and anxiety levels of our consumers through aromatherapy. What we love the most is the ability to create and customize orders for our customers. Our customers have the ability to pick CBD loads, fragrances, and white-label candles for their own small businesses or events. Through research and paying meticulous attention to the details of the event or business, we come up with a luxurious experience using the best natural products and vessels. We are most proud of the many vendor experiences that allowed us to meet new people and gain ideas and meet the needs of the community. My most proud moment was getting an email to be a part of the pre-Grammy gift lounge coming up in February 2023. Like most vending opportunities, I am hopeful to meet a lot more great people at this event. CBD candles are our specialty and adding luxury to the product and our presentation is what sets us apart from other candle makers.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
Always have a backup plan, and take the time for yourself to put things in place for yourself and your family. Grow yourself, your health, and your wealth so that when hiccups like COVID-19 come up, you are well prepared.
