Today we’d like to introduce you to Natalie Cody.
Hi Natalie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I fell in love with magazines when I was 12 years old, and that’s when my creativity started to blossom. So going to a college specializing in the arts was a no-brainer. However, my creative side coexists with the side of me that loves organizing and being an administrative assistant, which helps me pull it all together.
After graduating from the Art Institute of Atlanta, my career took me on an exciting path as a fashion stylist and make-up artist. Still, interior and event design is where I have spent most of my career, which is my greatest passion.
As the founder and principal designer of “Incredible Living Interior and Events” for the past 17 years, seeing the joy my work has left behind has been the most meaningful to me. I thought it would be befitting to write an interior design coffee table book with them in mind. Most coffee table books feature mansions, penthouses, expensive homes, or yachts. Since my clientele is the people I see as I navigate life, I knew it had to be for them because we work hard and often sacrifice to decorate our homes. It is a must-see and read coming winter 2022! My faith is very important to me, and through my faith, I find myself encouraging others, which was the catalyst for starting the Incredible Living Expo.
The Incredible Living Expo is an annual event bringing Atlanta businesses together to provide attendees with the opportunity to experience various products and services promoting multifaceted lifestyle improvements.
In keeping with our goal of encouraging others to live incredible lives, the theme of our inaugural expo will be “Renew, Rediscover, Redefine.” This theme will not only provide a launching point for this yearly event but will also provide a starting place for guests on their journeys toward incredible living. We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I went through a divorce that left me financially exhausted and emotionally drained. Just about every area of my life was depleted in some way. I had nothing, but nothing can be the start of everything. I needed healing and recovery for my daughter and me. I knew my daughter and I had an arduous road ahead. The circumstances, though challenging, would eventually come together for our good. I knew I would work my way through them.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your work?
We sometimes have to move to past ourselves to see something incredible in someone else. As I mentioned earlier, I see the transformation my work as a decorator and event designer leaves behind; this is the most rewarding aspect of my work. I think it is also what sets me apart from others.
We’re always looking for the lessons that can be learned in any situation, including tragic ones like the Covid-19 crisis. Are there any lessons you’ve learned that you can share?
Although Covid-19 left a lot of devastation behind, it was also a time that motivated some of us to do new things we may not have done.
