Today we’d like to introduce you to Nyla Colvard.
Hi Nyla, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a girl with big dreams that I know I will be able to accomplish with hard work and dedication. I am a freelance model from Detroit, Michigan. I have been in multiple runway shows including New York Fashion Week 2022 and will be in walking in Chicago Fashion Week 2022. I visited ATL for a casting with iamsyleagency and was in a reality modeling casting. I have been modeling for over two years and have been building my portfolio by collaborating with many local photographers and makeup artists. I plan to be signed by a mother agency by the end of 2022. During my free time, I am still working on my craft. I am launching my first online clothing business called 626 Fashion in March 2022. I am focusing on providing quality trendy swimwear that embodies summers feel good vibes. I would like to also mention I attend Wayne State University majoring in B.A. in Liberal Arts and Sciences with a minor in Psychology working toward nursing school. I am also working towards getting my real estate license by the end of March 2022 to further educate myself in the real estate business which always interested me.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
It has been many big bumps in the road being a college student with funds being tight. I had to give up a lot of things such as getting my nails done and becoming my own hairstylist. Even though I had to give up certain things many advantages came from it. I was able to manage money better to help me with being finically stable. I also was able to mold myself into being into a professional standard of modeling which opened many doors which will help me be signed to an agency. Every day is a challenge but its how you look at it will determine if you will push through. One day at a time through God!
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
I work as a server when I am not modeling, working on my real estate license brainstorming ideas for my business,626 Fashion, coming out March 2022. I am known for being a hard worker and always able to find a solution to any problem. Many people love they can rely on me to get the job done.
What matters most to you? Why?
Happiness means the most to me. After struggling with situational depression and ocpd (ocd planning disorder), it is important to put trust in God and value how important it is to live with happiness.
