Today we’d like to introduce you to Robbie Wilde. They and their team shared their story with us below:
For more than a decade now, Robbie Wilde has been perfecting his relationship with a unique craft of his. A relationship that tends to confuse yet intrigue most of the world.
His craft is music. The confusion, he’s hard of hearing/deaf.
Robbie’s affinity for music during his early years was amplified when he was introduced to the true roots of DJ culture, the turntables. While his love grew, his hearing began to disappear, resulting in who he is today; a professional music artist, DJ, Music Producer, performer, inspirational speaker, philanthropist, activist and a of course, the same music lover.
Being raised in several different countries around the globe has bred Robbie to become the natural world traveler he is today. Years of relentless persistence fueled by the passion to not only find success in music but to bring his message full circle back to his roots, is finally a reality.
The past years have given birth to the rise of Robbie Wilde. His projects, performances and philanthropic work can be found everywhere! From small music-tech blogs and nightclubs to worldwide publications and arenas.
Moving forward, Robbie hopes to continue collaborating with other great talent from all kinds of creative industries and most importantly, to continue to be granted the opportunity to connect with the people that support his crazy journey and the mission behind it! There is still much to come, as the crusade has just begun.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
It has not been a smooth road in this 20 years journey. It is difficult and time-consuming for hearing people to make music, so I take a little more time to perfect my craft. Also, this industry is very cutthroat and who you know. It has been difficult to connect with people but the universe has guided me to the right people that belong in my circle. So I am blessed for that.
Thanks – so what else should our readers know about your work and what you’re currently focused on?
I am a deaf dj and producer. I have went to school for music production and dj battle-style classes. I put 10,000 hours into my craft and haven’t stopped yet. There are no cheat codes for being great, just the amount of passion and time put into practice; and this career has been my life full-time.
My proud moments have been all the successful people and tier-one company I have had the opportunity to work with. It is a blessing each time I get to go on stage and display my craft.
And the thing that separates me from others is my hearing situation and doing what I do!
What matters most to you? Why?
Happiness for others. I’m a big giver. I love to get a smile from a stranger and a hug from someone who needs it most. So me playing music for many and having everyone sync to the rhythm and be as one at that exact moment is my goal every time.
Making music and djin shows gives me the opportunity to make more than one person forget their sadness of the day and bring their spirits up. I mean, that’s what we are here on this earth for right? Love and Happiness.
