Check Out Travis Jackson’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Travis Jackson.

Hi Travis, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
It all started when I joined the elementary school band playing the trombone. I quit the band in high school because none of the students took the class seriously. I learned to make beats and record on fruity loops and later joined up with some friends and started writing and recording songs. I realized that I enjoyed making music and wanted to make a career out of it so I attended the Art Institute of Atlanta for Audio Production and Engineering. I did my internship at music house studio and got the opportunity to work with Lecrae, Gucci and Chris Brown. Unfortunately, I had to step away from music to help my terminally ill grandmother. When she died, it was really hard for me and it took a couple of years to recover. I started working as a janitor at an animal clinic and worked my way up to surgery technician but after seven years, I got burned out and passion fatigue. When the COVID epidemic started in 2020, I decided to quit my full-time job and continue pursuing my dream of music. Now I work from my home studio (TopKlass Entertainment LLC) recording and mixing songs for clients and myself.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Life is unpredictable and never easy. The most difficult challenge I had to face was losing my grandmother. She was the only family I had left and I really wanted to make her proud and see my success. It sounds cliche but what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger and I defiantly became much stronger.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I started making beats and writing songs but now I primarily record vocals and mix songs. I think I really specialize in educating others for music production. I really enjoy teaching and it helps me stay sharp and current on today’s trends. I pride myself on my dedication and quality of service. Many clients enjoy working with me because I truly care about your song and want it to sound as good as possible.

What would you say have been one of the most important lessons you’ve learned?
The most important lesson I have learned is do what you love. If you were to die tomorrow, your job would have to find a replacement before the end of the month but your friends and family can never replace what they have lost. Don’t go through life trying to pursue money. What’s important is friends, family and your health.
