Check Out Tristan Smith’s Story

Today we’d like to introduce you to Tristan Smith.

Hi Tristan, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I started my model journey in high school with Barbizon. I ended up being a brand ambassador & model for a magazine called Miss.sis for a few months. Once I left for college, I joined Ward Modeling Troop, Inc. at Alabama A&M University. I began doing photoshoots and fashion shows with my organization as well as outside of the organization. I recently graduated in December 2021 and have moved back to Atlanta where I am pushing to pursue my modeling career here and continue to elevate as a model.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth road but honestly, what road is smooth when it comes to pursuing what you love to do. Some struggles or rough patches I’ve noticed are not fitting people’s ideal look sometimes and during quarantine, I gained a little weight which made me self-conscious and seemed like I had a harder time being picked by brands since I had a little more weight in places.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
As a creative, I am a model and also crochet. I love runway and have been pushing to be a part of more shows. I do want to start doing photoshoots again as well once I find a photographer(s) that I vibe well with. I’m most proud of constantly pushing myself to pursue my dreams. I’ve had the chance to walk in LA fashion week and hope to walk in many more fashion weeks by pushing myself. What sets me apart is my adaptability and natural creativeness with anything I’m involved in.

How do you think about luck?
I would call it luck but destiny. I feel anything I am supposed to do would happen willingly and what’s not meant for me isn’t meant for me. I trust God to steer me in the direction I’m supposed to be in.
