Today we’d like to introduce you to Ty-Vaun Hoskins.
Hi Ty-Vaun, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I’ve always had a passion for fashion and lived by the phrase if you look good, you feel good. Last November 2021, my bros & I took a trip to Houston for the first time to celebrate my birthday. While in Houston I visited tons of amazing boutiques and was inspired by the fashion scene and the availability of designer clothing, ALL big brands, all seasons which is NOT available at that magnitude where I reside at in Atlanta. What do you think of when you think of a high fashion brand? What do they all have in common? XPENSIVE FABRIC. . . & the phrase was BORN ” That’s Some ReallyXpensive Fabric”. . . which tied in the brand name ” ReallyXpensive” . . . Everyone wants to be REALLYXPENSIVE!!! Flew back home to Atlanta INSPIRED and full of ideas and launched the brand and released the first item online Valentines Day 2022.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Launched the brand Feb 2022 and Unfortunately two months later April 2022 the company I was employed with for the last four years decide to close the doors forcing employees to make rapid decisions to provide for their families. So to be honest, I’d have to say FUNDING which is an issue all small business can have. I took the last thousand dollars I had saved and invested in my brand to get more inventory and took a leaf of faith and attended my first popup in June 2022 hosted by tv personality/business owner Yandy Smith. It’s been a HUMBLING process but we are HERE.
Appreciate you sharing that. What else should we know about what you do?
I am a hard worker and feel I can be the best at whatever I do with the time a preparation. I’ve worked since the age of 16 and was promoted into management at the young age of 20, I’ve been in business management for about ten years so I know how to be a GREAT employee which has taught me how to be a GREAT business owner & run a business. I have 2 beautiful children 7&8 which motivate me to be the best I can be every day and make the best of my life so theirs can be even better. Business wise I am most proud of believing in myself and pushing through despite the obstacles and setbacks and also how far the brand has grown in just six MONTHS.
What matters most to you?
Family & Professional Relationships. . . Family will always be there for you and sometimes may even know you better than yourself and help guide you through life based on their past experiences & professional relations go further than money.
