Today we’d like to introduce you to Vickis Dream.
As a band, we’ve been working hard on perfecting our craft and writing songs for many years and playing many different local shows to get our message out there. You could definitely say we are heavy perfectionists in all that we do. We want to deliver the very best for people and to remain unique in our image and approach to the way we compose songs. It’s this level of dedication and hard work ethic that has gotten us to where we are today opening up for reputable acts such as Wednesday 13 and Psyclon Nine. We are excited to announce we are opening up for legendary horror punk band, Blitzkid in November. These shows have made a tremendous impact and huge leap forward in our career professionally, and we hope to carry on making music for as long as we live. We’ve grown closer together from when we first started, and we are truly like a family in the way we operate. It’s essential to have great friends in bands who can build each other up and watch each other’s backs. We are all about working together and being a strong family unit. We constantly bounce ideas off each other to see how we can take things to the next level in regards to our business and making each performance bigger and better than the last one. Building true meaningful relationships with our fans, fellow artists, and people working in the industry has also been a huge blessing for us on our journey too. They are the real MVPs in all of this because without them, there is no way for a band to carry on, and we owe so much to them. We can’t thank everyone enough for their support in bringing us to where we are today. It truly means the world to us knowing people out there do care about the musical gifts we share with them.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
We’ve been through multiple drummers and it’s literally been one hell of a time finding the right one. It’s as frustrating as using a tampon that doesn’t absorb. We’ve also ran into difficulties with balancing our work lives and paying for this album we are trying to release while pursuing this passion as a serious career. However, through our drive for our art, we have been able to develop a team of incredible people for our projects who have inspired us to keep on with this creative momentum, and with this momentum, it will enable us to reach out to lonely ears for people who are looking to be inspired through new music.
As you know, we’re big fans of you and your work. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about what you do?
We draw from many different styles of musical influences and genres. We love The Misfits, Faith No More, Suicidal Tendencies, Dead Kennedys, Sonic Youth, Sioxsie Sue, Peter Murphy, The Damned, Type-O Negative, A Perfect Circle, The MeatMen, The Plasmatics, Prince, and many more! We’ve poured all these genres and influences into our album we hope everyone can enjoy! We’ve been creating content around most of our live shows and music in delivering our message across to thousands of people. We’re hell-bent on taking over the world through our music and spreading a positive yet spooky message while doing it. What really sets us apart from most concept artists is that our whole group is a concept in and of itself. We bring a theatrical and exotic live experience to the stage by involving our audience in our story and breaking the fourth wall in the essence of Vicki’s dreams. We are most proud of all the music we make and building a strong cohesive artistic community among both fellow musicians and fans.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
Currently, we are working on our first album and we have been very blessed to work with Matt McJunkins and Jeff Friedl with the production at their studio, and GoPal Metro for recording keys to our song, “Morbid.” We’d also love to give a special thank you to Russell for helping us out and filling in on drums and EOA digital for allowing us to use the studio for recording. We are so beyond grateful to our fans and everyone supporting us for helping us make it to 6th place in the Quarter-Finals of The Opening Act Contest. People can learn more about the competition by following us on social media and our website.
