Community Highlights: Meet Celandria Wells of Sweet Tooth Creations

Today we’d like to introduce you to Celandria Wells.

Hi Celandria, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I can remember when I first started to brainstorm on ways to make extra income into my household. I was a single parent at the time and I knew whatever I decided to do, I didn’t want it to be a hobby but something I enjoyed doing. I wanted it to go far. Suddenly, a light bulb went off. What if I sold my Banana Pudding or Strawberry Shortcake? Who would buy from me? I reached out to my closest family and friends. “Try it and see” was the response I got.

From that day forward… my business took off. What was meant to be a hobby became a passion. I prayed and God revealed to me his vision and from there, he birthed what was inside of me. During this Journey of building my brand, I lost a lot of people in my life that I thought wanted the best for me. I lost my ex-bestfriend of 20 plus years. My name has been slandered. I have seen the true colors of people I valued dearly. God has taught me that it is ok to loose friends. It’s ok to be a loner. Sometimes people can’t go with you to the next level. It was hard to accept it. Sometimes, I still ponder on what was left behind. I have accepted God’s plan. Starting from scratch wasn’t easy, but knowing I only got here by God’s grace and mercy is Everything. I can honestly say I got this out the mud!!!!

I grew up with lack of support from both parents. My mother died when I was in the 5th Grade. Someone put cocaine in her drink and watched her suffer. She was only in her early 30’s. My father died in June, 2015. He suffered from Congestive Heart failure. My younger brother found him in bed with him. He tried to wake him and he wouldn’t stop snoring. I was raised from my great-aunt who is now 90 years old. I watched her in the kitchen baking pies and making homemade biscuits. I never imagined doing this myself. I came from nothing. We lived in a shack right at the end of Brownlee Road in Forsyth, GA. If you ride by there today, it is just a bunch of trees that has covered the house. I wasn’t popular in school. Again, I owe this come up to myself. I branded my name and I got this straight out the mud!!!! Thank God for change. I am currently married to my loving husband, Gregory Wells. I have two daughters; Journey and Jaida. My goal within this business is to own and operate a dessert bar with a relaxing aura that is inviting. Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
No this has definitely not been a smooth road. So many nights I stayed up crying and because I felt like giving up. I didn’t realize how many people hated me until I started doing something I loved. Again, I lost 20 plus years of friendship. I struggled with working two jobs, going to school, and running my own business. I had someone replicating my work and prices, slandering my business name, and making me look bad on front street. I had to pray harder. God has been with me. I had to realize all of my family wasn’t going to support me. All of my friends wasn’t going to support me. I had to connect with strangers. I am forever grateful.

Sweet Tooth Creations, LLC specializes in catering homemade cakes and treats to any family functioning, work events, Baby Showers, Bachelorette Parties, Birthday Parties, Weddings, etc. I am known for all flavors of Cheesecake cakes and Red Velvet. The top selling flavor is Strawberry Cheesecake Crunch. What sets me different from others is that I make weekly pop up sales, I deliver to surrounding counties, and I am constantly giving back to my customers and clients by doing different drawings and we hosted our first customer appreciation dinner last year in 2020. I take pride in my business. This is not my hustle or side job… this is PASSION.

Do you have recommendations for books, apps, blogs, etc?
I am currently working on a book about my life story. If you know me individually you will know the story. I been procrastinating on getting it finish but 2021 will be the year of releasing my book.
