

Today we’d like to introduce you to Derrick “Lamb” Lambert.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
My name is Derrick “Lamb,” and I am the president/CEO of DuTime, a management and marketing company. I began my career long before I knew it by working in commission sales after graduating high school. Here I learned how to sell products, build relationships, and develop management skills. Working in commission sales helped establish the groundwork for me to secure an internship in 2012 for a fashion brand called Meskita, where I worked closely with the designers, marketers, and logistics. Eventually, I began working at Multi Artistry Entertainment as an Exec Assistant in 2018. Later, I started my own business, which currently provides Marketing and Project Management services for various accounts such as MCM, Ferragamo, Remy Martin, athletes and more. In addition to well-known accounts, I am also working with LexDiamond Limited, Mgmt M14 and Atlanta-based business, Santo Ermano, The Cool With An Edge, and Luxury Levels Transport.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Absolutely not; entrepreneurship is never easy, but you learn quickly to readjust to its challenges. These challenges heighten your self-awareness, which is significant. As well as seeing what matters, how you act, think, and feel, and what you can and cannot do, you can make new decisions. What you also learn is that it is crucial to invest in yourself. It’s not always about the money you’re investing in. it’s your time, knowledge, and preparation. With every investment, it takes time to yield results. Nothing is a race. I lost a lot for the first investment I ever made into my business. But I quickly knew that I had to change my approach.
We’ve been impressed with DuTime, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Launched in 2020, DuTime was created with two specific goals: to offer clients customized management and marketing services based on their unique needs, preferences, and expectations. The primary outcome of our work is peace of mind for our clients. When delivering customized solutions to clients, DuTime prides itself on overcoming barriers; the company has served and continues to serve high-net-worth, established, and up-and-coming clients from all over. We do this by implementing marketing and communication strategies that showcase creative work, employ methods suitable for many multiple demographics, and curate specific events for the client. My experience in project management, marketing, and production (events) allows me to implement these strategies. Implementing cohesive solutions helps to increase project dependability, drive revenue, and grow the audience for a campaign using my robust array of networks in business.
Do you have any advice for those just starting out?
Find you a dedicated team. Having a team helps with, responsibilities, and tasks are more likely to be completed within a given time limit. Also, having a successful team helps reach the outcome better than you could imagine. Having my team Will, Laz, J.Ryan, and Stephon has been an important key in my success as they are all an extension of myself so it helps in our efficiency.
