Community Highlights: Meet Myesha Collins of Blue Girls Turned Gold

Today we’d like to introduce you to Myesha Collins.

Hi Myesha, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
Definitely…“We often don’t know our power, we aren’t taught to nurture or acknowledge it.”

Experiencing glass ceilings, oppressive environments, and unsafe circumstances within many systems and positions, I decided to create another way, my individual way. A way in which I have been able to express what I feel is my Living Legacy.

I’ve always held the Vision of a world that could see differently. Authentic Intention, Self Empowerment and Self-focused healing is what it sums up to.

Finding myself in new experiences such as being harassed at work, which resulted in me being constructively discharged in 2017, I found myself at a crossroads. Either choose to follow the path of Self Empowerment or submit to the Trauma of it all!

I decided to choose Myesha and pour into my passion “Helping others, through helping myself”! The truth was, I was tired, homeless, angry and felt defeated. However, I always knew and now realized the common theme was lack of resources and safe places, with that, I created my own safe space within and Expressed it to the world by the name “Blue Girls Turned Gold” Blue representative of the things we don’t know about ourselves and GOLD, honoring and owning our True Authentic Self!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
I fund all workshops, business services, essential resources, and spiritual services 99 percent from my own income. Finding resources that could partner nationwide has been a one of the more challenging endeavors. In addition being able to have a consistent safe place for those we serve along with transportation has been a feat.

Even with being a 501(c)3 Organization there is so much red tape for capital. I’ve been able to do so much and learn so much simply utilizing my own skills and experience. I’ve been consistently growing, I won’t say it was easy, smooth or hard, it was what was needed!

I am most proud of the global impact I’ve been able to make, people are the business, my intention is to be a Resource!

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Alongside being an Award winning Activist, I’m also an Ordained Minister, Creative Strategist, Mental Health Advocate, Veteran, Experience Transformation Mentor, International Author, Anthologist, Visionary, Spirit Guide and overall Resource.

I’ve been blessed to have multiple talents, one being creative strategy. Blue Girls Turned Gold has had impact thus far due to the creation of products, services, and resources. I use my own Experiences to create ways to connect, from our Children’s Book, Our Healing Anthology (Blue Girl Turned Gold), our Spiritual Services to include Tarot. We are branching out and becoming a complete Transformational Entity, leading with intentional support and sharing. We are working towards building our safe space in the physical form.

In my spare time I work with companies to help them positively empower their teams as well as analyze areas of improvement to include Environmental, Health & Safety, and Policies and Procedures to include Auditing. This arm of the business is identified as S.H.A. Consulting.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
Success is defined daily, I create what I desire…it may not always pan out exactly as I plan, but it always unfolds as it should. It’s imperative to decide what is happiness and success to you!
