Community Highlights: Meet Nicole Malone of Loramaxx Fitness

Today we’d like to introduce you to Nicole Malone.

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started? My passion for fitness was inspired by both my parents who died way too soon for health reasons that I feel with a healthier life style could have preserved their life. My mom had an entire medicine cabinet full of medications that seem to only make her worse not better, my father who begin taking chemotherapy for his cancer was told it wouldn’t cure it but could prolong his life. When I saw that his prolong life was filled with nausea, weakness, damaged cells and inoperable digestive. I wondered what type of quality of life did he really have. “What is life with no life”. I begin seeing older people who were living longer and actually having a quality life by exercising and implementing good nutrition.  I desired this for myself and my daughters that were soaking in everything that I did like a sponge. While I had their attention, I wanted them to learn how important good health was so I begin changing the foods I cooked for them and the only beverage we had in our home was water. Then I begin to exercise consistently making it a lifestyle and not just a hobby, programming my mind that this has to become a priority and not an option.  This mindset begin to show on me and I begin to attract people that were inspired by my motivation and consistency, so I decided to train other people, so they also could learn how to live a healthy lifestyle. I now train people virtually and in person and I absolutely love it.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect? I’ve learned that I have to show up when no else does. I think sometimes as humans we can have a desire to change, but breaking old habits are difficult and it forces us to face ourselves, and sometimes people don’t want to face themselves and the bad habits they need to break to live their best life. I think the challenge is sometimes expecting too much or expecting people to think like you think or to be as passionate about their fitness journey as you are. I’ve learned that you can “lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink.” This is the same way with some people who have been stuck in a negative mindset and practicing bad eating habits for years. When it comes down to the work some people just are not willing to put in the work consistently to see results, they get discouraged expecting a miracle overnight.  Fitness is a process it’s becoming totally whole not just in your body but in our minds and spirit also.  We must have a desire to think better so that we can be better. It has been a learning experience for me to not get stuck because someone may not be ready, but continue with my progression, staying positive and continuing to help people.

Alright so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know? That I’m a certified personal trainer that has been in fitness for over 12 years. I’m different than any other trainer, in the aspect that I’m not just concerned about the physical health of my clients. I desire for them to be whole mind, body and spirit.  As the pandemic and many other factors caused an increased in depression, anxiety, trauma and even suicide. I have a desire to bring a solution to this problem by opening a Total Health Club that will be a one stop shop where people can come and enjoy fitness, nutrition, and total relaxation in an ambience that will have everything they need for total wholeness. Our gym will include classes, free weights, cross fit training, and our spa will allow clients to have an intense workout then go get a massage by a real masseuse not a machine, who by their professional expertise will target our clients soar areas relaxing those tense muscles. But that’s not all after our clients pampering session, they can stop by our café before leaving for a nutritional smoothie or natural herbal tea., while enjoy good vibes and conversation.  This is a project that is in its fundamental stages and we are still seeking investors, sponsor and donors. If anyone reading this article feels that this can be impactful in the Atlanta area and you would like to get involved, please contact us at:  loramaxxfitness@loramaxx.com

So may we end on discussing what matters most to you and why? What matters most to me is that I can impact someone’s life. When my clients discover that they really can conquer their challenges, and with consistency and determination results come. Working hard for something is so much greater a reward than just settling. I want my clients to realize it doesn’t matter what size you are, your age, or your inadequacy’s if you believe it you can achieve it!
