Today we’d like to introduce you to Destiny Webster.
Destiny, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
Life has many trials, tribulations, & triumphs, but there is purpose in it ALL. I grew up as the oldest of three children, and I was always held to a standard of excellence in everything I did! From being an outstanding scholar to being an all-around athlete, I made it my priority to be the best at everything I did, but as I got older, it seemed that I had strayed away from the morals & values that my parents had instilled in me; no one really knew my spiritual downfalls. Although I got saved when I was 12 years old, baptized when I was 14, and my parents kept us in church, I struggled heavily with self-love, conformity, and double-mindedness up until recently; I was able to acknowledge these things, and actively pursue spiritual progression.
Over the past couple years, I’ve experienced abandonment, anxiety, depression, heartbreak, and neglect. The devil’s tried to destroy me from every direction of my life. He’s tried to destroy my family dynamic, my friendships, my happiness, and ultimately, my relationship with God. But as the devil tried to break me, God was just building me to be a blessing! He was building me to build people, and that is why I started my community outreach organization & my mom brand.
“The Blessin’ Business”, formally known as “Destination Destiny”, aims to be a light to unbelievers and lukewarm Christians. We serve and succeed by Ephesians 5:8, “For you were once darkness, and now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light.” We, as Christians, fellowship all of the time, but we have to learn how to make the people outside the four walls of the church a priority. We are here to change their hearts so that they may live favorably to the will of God, and that is exactly what I do through “The Blessin’ Business”. We kicked off our launch in October or 2018 at our first annual “Hoops for Boobs” Breast Cancer Basketball Tournament. We’ve also hosted a coat drive, a purpose poster party, and a prom giveaway with another organization called “United By Christ.” We are doing everything to reassure people that the work of the Lord is NOT dead by serving & shining!
Along with my organization, I am also running a mom brand called “Bomb Mom.” Most may know, but I am a new mom to an eight-month-old baby girl. We aim to encourage & empower ALL moms (Expecting moms, Angel moms, God moms). Women experience so much turmoil before & after birth, and this brand is to promote and provide a support system of enhancing the confidence and self-love to moms. We must focus on the woman that is within the mom FIRST! So, aside from the merchandise we have, we also focus on the mental, emotional, and physical health of moms!
So, long story short, once you let go of the carnality of your past and allow God to take control of your present, He will give you power over your future! EVERY struggle that I’ve ever endured will be embodied in every success I attain. I’ve come a long way, but the road ahead has distance into the sunset; I won’t stop traveling until God’s done with me!
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Of course, not! God said that the weapons wouldn’t prosper! He never said they wouldn’t form! Everybody experiences challenges in life. It’s all about HOW you deal with them! I’d probably advise other women to just do for themselves! And no, I’m not referring to you getting your mani/pedi or a massage here or there! I’m referring to taking action when it comes to really love yourself second (because God comes FIRST, of course!) Learn how to make decisions based on what benefits YOU mentally, emotionally, and physically. We as women are so used to putting others before ourselves that often times we jeopardize our own lives. Your happiness matters! Your joy matters! Your peace matters! YOU MATTER!
What should we know about Bomb Mom & The Blessin’ Business? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
I’m known for my love for philanthropy and humanitarianism, and what better way to act on those than to glorify God in the act?! With both my organization and my mom brand, I operate solely from a Christ-like standpoint, providing a genuine experience of service. I am most proud of the number of lives I have changed, and the lives I will change just by doing the work of God! The only thing that sets me apart from others is the vision that God has blessed me with. Sure, there are hundreds of other organizations that may do what I do and plenty of others mom brands that may sell what I sell, but the experience will always be unique because the vision that He’s placed on my mind and in my heart is unmatched; it’s a vision that He created me to fulfill, and until I get a team of people who too believe in the vision that God’s given to me, I will continue to travel this road alone!
Who do you look up to? How have they inspired you?
Of course, my mother has inspired me; she raised me to be the God-fearing young woman that I am. She also has her own mentoring group for young girls called “Social Butterflies”. Both of my grandmothers have also been great inspirations to me. My dad’s mother passed away from breast cancer in 2007, but she was easily one of the strongest women I’ve ever known, and my mom’s mother IS the strongest woman I know. She holds a special place in my heart, and her passive spirit inspires me more than she’ll ever know!
I have a number of friends who have inspired me and helped me become the woman I am today just by pouring their knowledge, love, patience, grace, and money into me. I’m so grateful for every woman in my life.
