Today we’d like to introduce you to Kristin Dwight.
Kristin, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
How did I start in photography? Well, my family is big on memories so it was just something that we all did. My first camera was a disposable camera.
When and why I started photography? After having my first born in 2004, my first camera phone was a Nokia and I was taking pictures of everything. After Hurricane Ivan, we lost everything. Homes, lives, the whole island, I would say it was about 75-90% demolished. The following year, I got an opportunity to move back to Miami, where I actually started doing a little photography here and there just to see if I still had it. My first opportunity shooting was my sister in law at that time baby shower and we only had a point and shoot. Yay, me lol, anyways when she got her images back she was actually impressed by the images that I captured, so I took that and just ran with it. She was very hard to agree with a person…
Overall, has it been relatively smooth? If not, what were some of the struggles along the way?
Just keep creating. You will reach a part in your journey where everything isn’t working out. Take a deep breath, and see what is being taught at the moment. Whether it’s a win or teachable moment, you have control of the outcome. And most of all, just have fun. 🤞🏽

I specialize in Branding photography | videography and strategy. I am known for my work on Instagram @shotxkrissid.
I am most proud of my work ethic and just being a self-taught artist when it comes to my craft.
Me being me is what has been setting me apart from everyone else. I don’t compete with others, everyone is in a league of their own but when it comes to me bettering myself that’s when I become competitive asf. I know my limits and only I can break them. I want everyone to win.
Do you have a lesson or advice you’d like to share with young women just starting out?
Start your business up as an LLC and know every aspect of your business. Believe in yourself.
