Conversations with the Inspiring Toni McEachin

Today we’d like to introduce you to Toni McEachin.

Toni, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
As the daughter of a Cosmetologist, I’ve been surround by beauty my entire life. My mother’s love of beautification gradually became a shared passion transforming into Duchess Cosmetics. In addition to creating a makeup line and being a makeup artist, I’m also a Vice President for a Fortune 500 company. In this role, like beauty, it is important to be bold and confident. When you look good, you feel good and when you feel good, you have the ability to create and conqueror your dreams.

I wanted women from all walks of life- whether you are a successful woman in business, in family, in life –  to have a home, a place where they can feel comfortable to use makeup. Often times, we’re bombarded with trendy images and decide to opt-out of beauty altogether.

I created Duchess Cosmetics for women like myself; who want to enhance their natural beauty and move about their day feeling beautiful.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Let’s qualify smooth. In any new venture, there will be disappointments, timeline restructures, broken commitments and more; however, these are opportunities to learn, grow and strengthen the business. In the end, the excitement on a client’s face is worth the operational challenges. In fact, it’s priceless.

The sole advice I can provide is “don’t quit.” Your dreams are worth the journey.

What should we know about Duchess Cosmetics? What do you guys do best? What sets you apart from the competition?
Duchess Cosmetics specializes is non-paraben and vegan options cosmetic products as well as makeup education. Women want to look beautiful without becoming the excessive makeup images they’re bombarded with. Unfortunately, natural beauty enhanced is an underserved market and Duchess Cosmetics fills that void.

Duchess Cosmetics is the timeless and chic alternative.

We serve women who desire to apply their makeup with ease and are tired of exaggerated trendy beauty makeup fads

Our signature event is Duchess Cosmetics Makeup and Mimosas 101 class. The traditionally sold-out event teaches women how to beat their own face so that you can look bomb strolling into a business meeting, hitting the stage for a speaking gig, at the grocery store, or just a night out on the town.

So, whether you’re a beginner make-up wearer or an advanced cosmetics enthusiast, you’ll discover exactly how to glam up your naturally beautiful face for any occasion with Duchess Cosmetics.

We’ve built a solid reputation in the metro-Atlanta area for delivering quality products and services.

Do you have a lesson or advice you’d like to share with young women just starting out?
My advice is to just start! Often times, along with the entrepreneurial journey, you will find yourself perhaps in paralysis analysis. It’s important to create a plan and account for as many obstacles as possible, however, in business, you can never anticipate everything that will occur. Therefore, if you just start, you may find yourself tweaking vision, process, and procedures along the way, but at least, you’re a lot further than analysis. Don’t be afraid to make a mistake – truly I have learned the most about Duchess Cosmetics through my failures.
