Sonya, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
As a young girl who grew up in a Liberian household, I was heavily influenced by my mother who was a restaurateur in Liberia. She would have me begin the preparation of dinner while she was on her way home from work by guiding me through the process over the phone. My curiosity continued to grow as well as my cravings for trying new dishes. With this, I began preparing dishes from the many cookbooks within the home and experimenting with my own recipes. After graduating from Jacksonville University in 2010, I decided that I wanted to become a professional chef and gain a more advanced knowledge of different cuisines as well as the correct ways to prepare them. This began my journey at the French Culinary Institute in New York, New York. I had the opportunity to cater private dinners as well as intern and work in restaurants in the city to gain a more hands on experience. When I made the decision to move back to the south and settle in Atlanta, Stuffed Belly Kitchen was born to offer a different variety of Liberian and western foods to introduce to a other cultures while still providing some of the southern classics that most enjoy! Stuffed Belly Kitchen is the go to for many who are in need of meal prep, private dining, private lessons, catering and more!

My name is Sonya Freeman and I am the owner of Stuffed Belly Kitchen. I offer a wide array of personal chef services. Clients can book services for meal preps, catering, private dinners, private lessons and more. We take pride in offering the many classic dishes and services that one may find in the western culture but also offering tasty dishes from many other cultures that clients will enjoy!

I love the culture of Atlanta and the encouragement and hospitality that is received by the people of the city. I dislike the constant traffic of course. (LOL).
