Conversations with Andrea Ball

Today we’d like to introduce you to Andrea Ball.

Hi Andrea, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
The party started in 2016 when I self-published my first book Seek God. I had to figure out how to sell it. I started being a vendor at local events and found my niche. I loved the excitement and meeting new people. In 2017 I hosted my first event and I haven’t let up since. I’ve worked in every role; vendor, host, speaker, performer & coordinator. In 2021, I decided to launch a corporate event planning business to assist others in bringing their vision to life.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Of course not. I went through the typical event struggles. I’ve hosted events and no one show up. I’ve hosted events and entertainment fell through. I’ve invested money with no return. There’s no better feeling than doing what you want to do. That’s what keeps me going.

Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
I’m an Event Strategist. I create events that help business owners achieve their goals. Whether it’s to grow their network, gather new leads, launch a new product or engage with current customers, there is an event to get it done. Anyone can have an event but in business we know we must have a strategy. For example, having things in place to collect emails, getting specific photos for future content, marketing a certain way to draw potential customers. It all had to make sense. I’m most proud of my growth from when I first started to now. I’m continuing to learn and grow to become the best option for my clients.

Risk taking is a topic that people have widely differing views on – we’d love to hear your thoughts.
No risk, no reward. It’s always a risk. That’s what I love about entrepreneurship. I decided a long time ago that I’ll always bet on me. The good part of events is there are more ways to win than revenue. You may not make a lot but you grew your network or you learned or you got content. Just because the event didn’t make money that day doesn’t mean it won’t bring in money down the road.
